The India–Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), eliminating customs duties on Indian gems and jewellery imports to Oman, is expected to boost exports and strengthen bilateral trade, according to the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC). India’s current exports to Oman stand at USD 35 million (2024), but duty-free access under CEPA could increase this to USD 150 million over the next three years. Growth will be driven by enhanced price competitiveness, a wider range of products, and stronger industry collaboration. India is already Oman’s largest supplier of 22-carat gold jewellery, with exports rising 80.11% in 2024–25, highlighting trust in Indian craftsmanship.
