Once again, the mechanical treasures of A. Lange & Söhne will be among the highlights of the event. The Saxon manufactory will be showcasing its artistry with a unique version of the 1815CHRONOGRAPH. The exclusive timepiece will be auctioned off on 6 November 2022 by Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo at the Geneva Watch Auction XVI. The proceeds will be donated to The Prince’s Trust charity and used to give young people better prospects in life.

Jacob & Co. donates a one-off timepiece to the yearly Luisaviaroma x UNICEF charity gala

Jacob & Co. donated a one-off timepiece to the yearly Luisaviaroma x UNICEF charity gala. After a heated fight between buyers, the watch was auctioned off for 450,000€ /USD /CHF, 50% above the retail price of its regular version. A charity auction may be about charity, but buyers rarely loose their temper over the event itself, however laudable the cause. The yearly gala organized by high street digital retailer Luisaviaroma is indeed one of the most highly regarded. Each year, its entire proceeds benefit UNICEF, the United Nations fund for Children and Education. Held at La Certosa di San Giacomo in Capri on July 30th, it welcomed celebrities such as Spike Lee, Jamie Foxx, Jared Leto, Ansel Elgort and star of the show J.Lo. It featured many lots gifted by many brands and artists. But Jacob & Co. upped the ante by offering a one-off timepiece from its flagship Opera Godfather collection.

Discover the new “Helios Albedo” by Frederic Jouvenot

Fascinated by the Sun, the intricate play of light and shade in a three-dimensional playground, and how humanity came to master one of the first horological device… Frederic Jouvenot developed the very first mechanical sundial, a micro-mechanics marvel that embodies his disruptive take on modern watchmaking. Whereas a Tourbillon cage usually fits 80 components in 13mm, Frederic Jouvenot 24-hour Jumping cage is the result of a 2-year R&D and several patents, fitting 100 components in a 12.916 mm central cage, including 24 rubies which will activate the hour’s jumping beams. Limited to 28 pieces, the “Helios Albedo” dial is made of 12 black-polished symmetrical micro-structures, using a very traditional hand-finishing technique that takes hours to give each single element its mirror-like effect.

NOMOS Glashütte presents its blue watches

In many countries, blue is the favorite color for most people. In Germany, where watchmaker NOMOS Glashütte is located, studies show: At 19%, blue has a clear lead, followed by green (14%) and red (13%). Blue is exceedingly popular. Blue is the color of the sky and the sea; of longing, faithfulness, cornflowers and eternity. All of which are deemed desirable by many. Plenty of reasons to dare to sport more blue on your wrist, alongside white which is always a good choice. At any rate, NOMOS Glashütte loves blue, and is now presenting an entire range of the most stunning watches in various shades - some new, others familiar. “Although most NOMOS watches are white, none of our models come in quite as many shades as the blue watches,” explains Uwe Ahrendt, CEO of NOMOS Glashütte, describing these little blue miracles.

Presenting the Atlantis Collection by Montegrappa

After the highs of the moon landing, NASA needed a solution that would enable frequent spaceflight. The answer arrived in the form of the Space Shuttle programme: a fleet of reusable spacecraft that would unite and inspire a generation during its three decades of service. Atlantis Collection uses early nineties design codes to celebrate an iconic era, and a triumph of technology, design and engineering. The space agency’s beloved “Worm” logo receives pride of place on a crisp livery that reconnects with an age of international scientific endeavour, and honours the Shuttle that carried Italy’s first astronaut to space. A signed copy of Franco Malerba’s “La Vetta / The Summit” accompanies all online orders.
