LVMH announces excellent first half of 2022

LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the world’s leading high-quality products group, recorded revenue of €36.7 billion in the first half of 2022, up 28% compared to the same period in 2021. Organic revenue growth was 21%. All business groups achieved double-digit organic revenue growth over the period. In the second quarter, revenue increased by 27% against a particularly high basis of comparison. Organic revenue growth was 19%, in line with trends seen in the first quarter. Profit from recurring operations was up 34% at €10 235 million for the first half of 2022. Operating margin reached 27.9% of revenue, up 1.3 points compared to the first half of 2021. Group share of net profit was €6 532 million, up 23% compared to the first half of 2021.

Vacheron Constantin re-opens its newly renovated Flagship Boutique in The Dubai Mall

The boutique pays tribute to the Maison’s deep roots in the Middle East and commitment to outstanding client service. Located on the Ground Floor of The Dubai Mall, the boutique entrance is adorned with the Mashrabiya pattern, traditional to local architecture, references to which continue inside the space offering a metaphorical and physical journey. As a demonstration of the Maison’s commitment to client-centered services, the heart of the experiential boutique opens to the watchmaking bench, intended to encourage interaction with an in-house master watchmaker, as well as a custom strap station presenting both engraving and embossing bespoke options along with a Métiers d’Art collection discovery table placed below an iconic dome.

 

Tiffany & Co. announces Tiffany Atrium

Tiffany & Co. has announced the launch of Tiffany Atrium, a social impact platform that advances opportunities for historically underrepresented communities. The platform’s mission is to create a more diverse and inclusive jewelry industry through commitment, leadership and learning - all of which is reflected in Atrium’s three core pillars: creativity, education and community. The name ‘Atrium’ is inspired by the Return to Tiffany® heart tag necklace - a nod to both the heart as well as the center room around which a house is built. To mark the launch of Tiffany Atrium, the House collaborated with American visual artist and community-builder Derrick Adams to design an original artwork, entitled “I Shine, You Shine, We Shine” which the Tiffany Atrium logo is derived from.

Chopard launches Alpine Eagle Qatar Edition

To honour its longstanding partnership with Alfardan Jewellery, Chopard is enriching the Alpine Eagle collection of sporty-chic timepieces with an exclusive model featuring with a burgundy dial and produced in a limited series of just 50 pieces. The case and integrated bracelet of the watch are entirely made from Lucent Steel A223. Thanks to its anti-allergenic composition, this innovative metal boasts properties comparable to surgical steel, making it highly dermo-compatible. With a strength of 223 Vickers, this alloy is 50% more resistant to abrasion than conventional steels and has a unique hardness. Finally, the purity conferred by its superior homogeneous crystal structure enables it to reflect light in a unique way. In keeping with the ethical approach to which the Manufacture is committed, this Chopard-exclusive steel is made from 70% recycled material.

 

Audemars Piguet introduces Code 11.59 Perpetual Calendar in white gold

Audemars Piguet releases a new iteration of its Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Perpetual Calendar combining an 18-carat white gold case with a blue aventurine dial and a matching textured rubber-coated strap. This contemporary timepiece continues the Manufacture’s long history of calendar watches while foregrounding once more the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet’s endless creativity. The moon phase at 6 o’clock has been reproduced through laser engraving and applied on a thin aventurine disc. The day number and week day, respectively located at 3 and 9 o’clock, as well as the month indication at 12 o’clock are also presented on aventurine subdials. For their part, the week numbers have been transferred onto the corresponding blue lacquered inner bezel. The white gold hour-markers and hands add a subtle contrast, while recalling the colour of the case and crown.  

 

Jaeger-LeCoultre presents the Reverso Tribute Enamel Hokusai ‘Amida Falls’

In its latest homage to Asian art, Jaeger-LeCoultre has introduced the Reverso Tribute Enamel Hokusai ‘Amida Falls’, honouring the work of the 19th-century Japanese master, Katsushika Hokusai. The case-back of the new timepiece is decorated with a hand- enamelled miniature reproduction of The Amida Falls in the Far Reaches of the Kisokaido Road (Kisoji no oku Amida-ga-taki), the best-known work from A Tour of Waterfalls in Various Provinces (Shokoku taki meguri), a series of eight woodblock prints created by the artist in 1833–34. Complementing the exquisite tribute to the Asian art form of woodblock printing on the case-back, the dial is anchored in the Western craft traditions of guillochage and Grand Feu enamel.

Continuing on a journey to create boundary-breaking masterpieces, Roger Dubuis is proud to introduce the third timepiece from its Urban Culture Tribe with the Excalibur Sorayama Monobalancier (MB). Pioneer in his art, the world-famous Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama has been inspiring his peers for decades. By inventing his super-realist feminine “Sexy Robots”, he broke conventions and shook traditions. His talent has been rewarded by multiple awards and his genius led him to work with the biggest names across high fashion, technology, and music. Perrelet presents “Turbine Rainbow”

Perrelet, the Swiss watchmaking manufacture renowned for its original creations with animated dials, is introducing a new wristwatch in the Turbine line for summer 2022. The iconic Turbine model has been renewed and adopts an innovative carbon fibre case with improved water-resistance to 10 atm / 100m instead of the traditional 5 atm. Carbon fibre, a material never used before by Perrelet - except for the unique piece "Turbine Hope" conceived for the 9th edition of the Only Watch charity auction in 2021 – is now deployed on a series of new timepieces in the Turbine sporty line. The first model of these creations, with more to follow later this year, is named "Turbine Rainbow" and is a limited edition of 50 pieces. "Turbine Rainbow" features a high-tech case with a stainless steel bezel and case back with matte black PVD coating and a central body made of polycarbonate and carbon fibre.

 

Land Rover Classic unveils exclusive Elliot Brown Watch

Land Rover Classic has continued its partnership with Elliot Brown Watches - official timekeeper of the Land Rover Trophy competition – with the release of 1,000 new Trophy Expedition timepieces. The watch is inspired by the New Classic Defender Works V8 Trophy II, which pays homage to seven decades of global Land Rover exploration and adventure. Based on Elliot Brown’s best-selling Holton Professional model, each of the 1,000 exclusive timepieces share a number of features influenced by the iconic 4x4, such as its unique camouflage design and glowing silhouettes of Land Rovers throughout its expedition history. Vicenzaoro September: previews of the IEG show, leader in Europe for jewellery trends

New products, the première of the new Trendbook 2024+, the industry's commitment to sustainability and training, the state of the art of the market. Gold and jewellery will return to their European show from 9th to 13th September: Vicenzaoro September - The Jewellery Boutique Show (VOS), at Vicenza Expo Centre together with the third edition of VO Vintage (9th-11th September). The number of exhibitors at Italian Exhibition Group's international show will be close to pre-Covid levels with India and the Far East, Hong Kong, China and Thailand, also returning to the event and better represented than in March, albeit limited by ongoing restrictions. Business matching will therefore resume on these markets for buyers arriving from all over the world, involved in the incoming programme organised with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ITA, the Italian Trade Agency.
