Chopard’s homage during the Cannes Film Festival

During the 65th Cannes International Film Festival, of which Marilyn Monroe is the figurehead, Chopard is unveiling an exceptional series of 25 unpublished photographs of the star by Milton Greene, as well as a tribute jewellery creation designed by Caroline Scheufele. The exhibition will be held during the Cannes Film Festival and will be followed by a worldwide tour lasting the rest of the year. This exceptional event is part of the long history of the ties binding Chopard to the world of film-making. Official partner of the Cannes Festival for the 15th year, the Geneva-based House which designs the Palme d’Or and supports young talent, is the key figure at the greatest event in world cinema.

 

Hublot as Official Watch of UEFA EURO 2012™

As Official Watch of the UEFA EURO 2012 ™, and also present on the referee board of the 14th UEFA European Football Championship, Hublot has chosen the Kyiv Olympic Stadium, the venue which will host several UEFA EURO 2012™ matches as well as the final scheduled for 1st July 2012, as the symbolic location for the unveiling of its two official UEFA EURO 2012™ watches. As the competition's Official Watch, Hublot held a press conference, attended by Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of Hublot, Martin Kallen, Director of Operations at UEFA Events S.A, Markiyan Lubkivskyi, Tournament Director in Ukraine, and Friend of UEFA EURO 2012™ Sergey Bubka, Ukraine's sporting legend (he remains the men's world pole vaulting record holder, President of the National Ukrainian Olympic Committee and member of the IOC) for a large number of local and international journalists, at which it unveiled the two King Power UEFA EURO 2012™ watches.

 

Longines as official timekeeper of the Dubai World Cup 2012

Culminating with the exciting Dubai World Cup, Dubai’s racing season came to an end on the 31st March 2012. In light of the exclusive partnership between Longines and the Meydan Group, the Swiss watchmaker was the official timekeeper for the Dubai World Cup, titled the World’s Richest Race. The final race was won by Monterosso. All the winning jockeys, owners and trainers were bestowed with stunning models from The Longines Saint-Imier Collection, which was the official watch of the event. The Sheema Classic presented by Longines, boasts a grand prize of US$ 5 million and is among the richest races run on turf, was won by Cirrus des Aigles. Lending the event an even greater touch of glamour and charm, Longines’ Ambassador of Elegance Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan awarded the “Most Elegant Lady” with a Longines Saint-Imier Collection timepiece.

 

A. Lange & Sohne to sponsor Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este

For the first time, A. Lange & Sohne is to sponsor the Concor­so d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, a worldwide beauty contest for classic automobiles, to take place from 25 to 27 May 2012 in Cernobbio on the shores of Lake Como. The Concorso d’Eleganza is considered to be the most traditional and elegant competition of its kind. The winner of the “Best of Show” category – the most important prize of the contest – will be presented with a one-of-a-kind cuvette edition of the LANGE 1 TIME ZONE. The dust cover of the hunter-cased watch has been adorned with an engraving designed specially for the occasion. The Central European Time (CET) zone is represented by the town of Como on the city ring around this time-zone watch.

 

Bulgari Monete Optical Illusion event

On 26th March 2012, Bulgari presented its new and trendy Spring Summer 2012 accessories collection along with exclusive Monete jewellery pieces. The Roman House welcomed over 200 guests to its Dubai Mall boutique and on this very special occasion journalists and VIP guests had the pleasure to discover the new collections highlighted by an anamorphic scenography imagined by Fabien Iliou. The French international artist, created his own interpretation of the collection where coins and handbags were shown escaping gravity and floating in the 400 sqm Bulgari store.

Vacheron Constantin shares with artistic crafts its profound faith in the richness of human

nature and in its creative impetus. Since 2011, the Manufacture has associated its name with the annual Metiers d’Art Days which are dedicated to promoting and passing on the culture of over 200 sometimes centuries-old skills. Proof of the growing interest among the public and professionals alike, the 2011 Paris event hosted more than 1,300,000 visitors during the three-day exhibition. In light of this unprecedented success, the 2012 Metiers d’Art Days took place on a European dimension. Two large events, in France and Italy, in which Vacheron Constantin took part, formed a cultural bridge between the hand craftsmanship traditions of different countries on March 30th and 31st and April 1st.

 

Van Cleef & Arpels Timeless Beauty Exhibition in Shanghai

The Museum of Contemporary Art in Shanghai - MOCA Shanghai, will be hosting “Van Cleef & Arpels, Timeless Beauty”, a heritage exhibition, from 20th May to 15th July 2012. Spanning over 100 years of history, the exhibition will allow visitors to view jewellery, watches, and precious accessories, as well as archive drawings and documents of the place Vendome Maison. For the first time in China, more than 370 pieces gathered from the Maison’s Collection and from private French and International owners will be on display. Set in a dreamlike scenography designed by Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku, the creations will be presented on two levels, in a 1200 sq. metres space. The area will be transformed into a journey built around four themes: Exoticism, Nature, Elegance and Femininity.

Zenith lends its support to humanitarian and charitable causes in the UAE

RJ-Romain Jerome celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Titanic with two limited series

To mark the 100th anniversary of the launch of the Titanic, RJ-Romain Jerome pays tribute to this seagoing giant that inspired its very first collection, by creating two special limited series: Steampunk Auto 100th Anniversary and Steampunk Chrono 100th Anniversary. Housed in a 50 mm-diameter case featuring distinctive rough and raw finishes, the Steampunk models in the Titanic-DNA collection embody the ship’s sheer power. They feature a bezel in oxidised and then stabilized steel stemming from a fusion between metal from the legendary wreck lying 3,840 metres under, and that provided by the Harland & Wolff shipyards where the Titanic was built. For this anniversary edition, the mobile propellers appearing on the dial of the Steampunk and reminiscent of those on the legendary ship, have been oxidized and stabilized by the same process as that used for the bezels of Titanic-DNA watches.
