Geneva Watch Days concluded on a successful note

After a week full of launches, meetings and lively discussions, Geneva Watch Days can look back on a record edition: 39 participating brands and nearly 1,500 industry professionals, including 600 media representatives and 300 retailers, came from all over the world to gather on the shores of Lake Geneva. The pavilion at the Rotonde du Mont Blanc was open to the public for four days and welcomed 8’000 people from the public, who were able to admire the latest offerings from the brands in 51 display cases grouped around three themes. 450 of them enjoyed guided tours led by three experts. The six symposiums on issues dear to the heart of the watchmaking industry were also a great success, each one drawing in fifty or so listeners to the auditorium.

Buccellati announces its new boutique address in Venice

Buccellati has relocated its historic boutique in Venice from Mercerie dell’Orologio 214/216, which has been open for about thirty years, to Salizada San Moisè, Sestiere San Marco 1295, which is a calle located right in the centre, between St. Mark's Square and Calle Vallaresco, populated by the shops of the great luxury brands, Venice's famous Harry's Bar and 5-star hotels. The architectural style of the new boutique echoes that of the other Buccellati shops in the world, with its typical historic shop windows finished in gold leaf, but set in the unique, historic context of Venice, with references to the city's typical aesthetic canons, such as the façade and signboard typical of Venetian shops, the Venetian seminato floor, and the consoles, the tables and chairs from the 18th century elegantly shaped and hand-carved.

Reflecting the creative energy of its founder but also his unconventional and daring approach, the Maison surprised its guests with the exhibition of one of the 1970s design icons: a unique car prototype designed by famous car designer Marcello Gandini the very same year Mr. Genta was launching his eponymous brand. Introducing Grand Seiko mechanical Hi-Beat 36000 GMT watch

In Japan, the charms of changing seasons are woven into the fabric of everyday life. Taking up this concept, the latest Grand Seiko mechanical Hi-Beat 36000 GMT expresses the beauty of autumn as it might be experienced in a traditional Japanese building with floors of lacquered wood. There, light pours in through windows, and the ebullient reds of autumn leaves outside reflect off the floorboards in a mesmerizing display of nature’s beauty. Each dial has a striated surface depicting a spectrum of reds, calling to mind how some lighter or darker floorboards might reflect varied shades of changing leaves. The GMT hand, rendered in a rich golden hue, adds another fall color to the dial.

Richard Mille presents RM 30-01 Automatic with Declutchable Rotor

With the new RM 30-01 Automatic with Declutchable Rotor, the brand is demonstrating its ability to generate intense emotion stemming from the excellence of its technical expertise. Like its predecessors, it benefits from the aesthetic solutions and technical advances that are adopted with each new design. But far from forgetting its roots, the RM 30-01 is strengthening them through a reinterpreted skeletonised design that helps to establish graphic balance. The grade 5 titanium bridges and baseplate create perspective and depth through the multiplication of their parallel segments. The curves of the previous models have been eliminated to allow a diamond-based geometry to emerge that adds dynamic energy to the display of information.

H. Moser & Cie. and MB&F creates a buzz for Only Watch

Maximilian Büsser and Edouard Meylan have collaborated for a second time for the Only Watch charity auction organised to raise funds for the Monegasque Association against Muscular Dystrophy, co-creating an exceptional one-off piece dedicated to music. Baptised the H. Moser X MB&F Streamliner Pandamonium, it features a minute repeater complication led by a miniature DJing panda, a creature that has become the signature of the Only Watch creations by MB&F. At the heart of the Streamliner's case is a three-dimensional movement that has been developed specifically and exclusively for Only Watch. It will not be used in any other models. Acoustically captivating and visually enticing, the minute repeater mechanism can be seen on the fumé dial in a brand-new colourway.

To support the cause of these irresistible animals whose population decreases yearly, a new dial has been specially created, adorned with the touching image of a koala. With this “Koala” watch from The Art Series Collection, the haute horlogerie brand once again proves its commitment to the protection of the planet’s environment and its inhabitants. The time and care necessarily devoted towards the making of such a timepiece have resulted in a pure work of art.
