Dolce&Gabbana x ADMAF Design Award 2025 Returns to Celebrate Emerging UAE Talent

The Dolce&Gabbana x Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation Design Award 2025 is back, inviting current and recent graduates passionate about fashion and design to submit entries. Celebrating the UAE’s emerging talent, the award highlights innovation in couture and craftsmanship while offering a global platform to launch a career. Submissions are open from 25 August to 31 October 2025 and require a mood board, source of inspiration, and technical sketch focused on Flowers, Lace, Patchwork, Hand-Painted, or Embroidery. Finalists will join an exclusive workshop, with the winning design unveiled at Abu Dhabi Festival 2026 and accompanied by a six-month Dolce&Gabbana internship.

On November 5, 2025, SICIS celebrates a major milestone with the opening of its new showroom in Dubai Design District (d3) - a 500-square-meter space that embodies the brand’s vision of merging art, innovation, and beauty. The architecture features a rhythmic sequence of arches symbolizing openness and movement, leading visitors through immersive environments where Vetrite, mosaic, and new furniture collections harmonize in Italian-crafted elegance. Azza Fahmy’s newest chapter of the Wonders of Nature collection reflects years of personal and artistic exploration. Inspired by the symbolism and forms of flowers—from lotus and daisy to jasmine—the designs capture nature’s expressive power through the brand’s signature craftsmanship. Colors evoke optimism, calm, and individuality. Head Designer Amina Ghali drew inspiration from travels through the Philippines, Vietnam, and Cambodia, where she observed nature flourishing in unexpected spaces. The 28.6 x 40.85 mm case is adorned with 94 brilliant-cut spessartites in a double color gradient, emphasizing its cambered profile. The Antarctique Plique-à-Jour, a limited edition of just ten pieces, seamlessly merges the maison’s contemporary watchmaking vision with one of the most intricate traditional enamelling techniques. Making its public debut at WatchTime New York 2025, this exceptional timepiece embodies Czapek & Cie’s founding philosophy - bridging time-honoured craftsmanship with modern horology. By applying the ancient art of plique-à-jour enamel, typically reserved for fine jewellery and objets d’art, to a modern integrated steel watch, the Antarctique Plique-à-Jour continues the brand’s ongoing dialogue between tradition and innovation.

 

Alpina Presents the Alpiner Extreme Automatic California

Collectors everywhere adore that neo-vintage style combining the best features of timepieces from the 50s and 60s with the bold colours that defined the era. The new Alpiner Extreme Automatic California is made for them, adding to this mix a dial consisting of half Roman and half Arabic numerals, a signature feature of "California" clock faces. For the first time, the watch comes in a smaller 39 x 40.5 mm case and is presented in two new colourways with sandblasted dial: a Sunburst dial in shades of brown and orange; and a pine green dégradé one that evokes the outdoor spirit at the heart of the Alpiner Extreme collection. Each model is equipped with a steel case with sapphire crystal back, a date display at 3 o'clock and a rubber strap fastened with a with a folding buckle.

This growth comes despite global headwinds, reflecting the resilience and adaptability of India’s jewellery exporters as festive and wedding season demand gains momentum. In September 2025 alone, overall exports rose 6.55% to US$ 2.91 billion, signalling improved market sentiment following months of volatility. However, the United States - a crucial destination for Indian gem and jewellery exports - continued to face challenges due to tariff-related factors.
