After ten intense days that put watchmaking worldwide in the spotlight, Watches and Wonders 2021 brings down the curtain on a truly successful edition. New releases, major announcements, exceptional creations, panels, discussions and a hugely popular Morning Show kept interest at a high throughout what was the most important watch Salon ever held online and offline. The enthusiasm surrounding the leading names gathered in Geneva then in Shanghai can be measured by how widely the event was relayed around the globe, generating hundreds of millions of views on social media, to single out Watches and Wonders as a key gathering in a particularly delicate sanitary context. This success shows how strongly an event such as this can resonate around the world. It also confirms the vitality and agility of an industry able to provide effective responses to the demands of its times in innovative and creative ways. |

OMEGA Counts Down to the Olympic Games with the Seamaster Diver 300M Tokyo 2020
It may be a little later than planned, but the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 is finally on its way. As the Official Timekeeper, OMEGA is unveiling a very special timepiece in tribute to the occasion. The OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M Tokyo 2020 delivers a unique colour scheme inspired by the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games emblem, along with the very best in watchmaking technology. The 42 mm case is crafted in stainless steel and is mounted with a blue ceramic bezel ring, which is filled with a white enamel diving scale. Stainless steel is also used for the polished-brushed bracelet that is seamlessly integrated with the case. To complement the blue, there is a polished white ceramic dial with extra depth provided by the laser-engraved waves. Features include a date window at 6 o’clock and the famous Seamaster name highlighted in red. Tokyo 2020 will mark the 29th time in history that OMEGA has fulfilled its role as Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games since 1932. |

Istana Jewellers partners with Luxembourg Royal Family’s Supplier of Jewels
Istana has partnered with Schroeder Joailliers following their decision to participate in the Dubai World Expo as co-sponsor for the Luxembourg Pavilion. Schroeder Joailliers, supplier of the Royal Family of Luxembourg, come from a long family tradition and are proudly still a family business, similar to Istana. Exhibiting their emblematic line “Rose of Luxembourg”, Schroeder Joailliers will be hosted in the VIP Lounge of the Luxembourg Pavilion during Expo 2020 from October 2021 until March 2022. Etoile Iaunches its first complication watch
This complicated wristwatch based on an automatic Swiss made movement is completed by a complication module made by Agenhor in Geneva housed in a steel watchcase. The Islamic calendar which began in 622 AD and is still used in most Islamic countries. To integrate the Islamic calendar together with the conventional Gregorian calendar on a mechanical wristwatch is a unique feature worldwide. The Etoile Dual-calendar wristwatch is housed in an octangular watchcase measuring 42 mm indicating hours and minutes by two large hands in the center of the dial. The date of the Gregorian calendar is indicated by a retrograde-hand starting from the left at 10 o'clock and ending at the right at 2 O'clock with the 31day of the month. The date of the 30 days of the Islamic calendar are indicated at 6 O'clock with Arabic numerals. At 4 0'clock the retrograde hand starts indicated the first month of the Hijri calendar and ends at the left side of the dial at 8 o'clock with the last month. |

Perfectly legible both night and day, the dial of the Vintage FULL LUM combines two Super-LumiNova® colours: pale green and pale yellow. This combination of colours gives the watch a professional appearance. In the daylight, its lines highlight the essential. The display of this timepiece meets with a graphic dial and clear indices. When the night falls, the dial lights up. The luminescent dial illuminates like a punch of light and the pale green background turns fluorescent green. The 30-minute counter and chrono seconds hand become fluorescent blue, ensuring the measured time is perfectly legible. The intense light offers an excellent brightness that contrasts perfectly with the black contours of the numerals, indices, hands, and counters.
