DMCC’s Dubai Diamond Exchange announces New Board of Directors.

Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE), a DMCC platform, and the only bourse in the Middle East affiliated with the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB), has elected its new Board of Directors with Dubai Diamond Exchange Chairman, Ahmed Bin Sulayem, at the helm. The newly elected DDE Board of Directors is as follows:

Semiconductor selected for the 4th Audemars Piguet Art Commission

Audemars Piguet announces that British artist-duo Semiconductor, Ruth Jarman and Joe Gerhardt, have been selected to imagine the 4th Audemars Piguet Art Commission, in collaboration with this year’s guest curator Mónica Bello, curator and Head of Arts at CERN (the European Organisation for Nuclear Research). The duo’s major new artwork will be unveiled during Art Basel in Basel, Switzerland (14-17 June). 

 

The Bvlgari resort Dubai opens its first Majlis for Ramadan.

The Bvlgari Resort Dubai unveils a new destination within a destination with the opening of the Bvlgari Majlis. Designed to give guests a place to feel at home during the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Majlis features architectural details from the Arab world, including the Ramadan moon, which has been crafted in Bvlgari’s distinctive mesh pattern. 

 

Chopard and Mille Miglia 2018, celebrating 30 years of passion

Since 1988, Chopard has been the historic partner and official timekeeper of the Mille Miglia, the legendary classic car event. From May 16th to 19th 2018, Chopard celebrated its 30th partnership with the Mille Miglia. The race saw 440 teams competing over a distance of one thousand miles on a historic route that runs from Brescia to Rome and back via Tuscany. Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Chopard co-president and a passionate driver, participated alongside his long-lasting friend and racing legend Jacky Ickx. The Maison presented during this race different Mille Miglia watch models: the Mille Miglia 2018 Race Edition, the Mille Miglia Racing Colours and the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Grigio Speciale.

 

Cartier is the exclusive Jewelry Partner of Ocean’s 8

The new action adventure Ocean’s 8 asked Cartier to be the film’s exclusive jewellery partner. For the Maison, the decision to take on this project rises from its legacy of empowering women with its bold and fearless spirit. It was a challenge and a thrilling venture for the jeweler asked to create a very specific parure for the film’s ultimate heist. The one-of-a-kind crown jewel lands a significant part in film worn by actress Anne Hathaway. The motion picture’s necklace was based on an original 1931 design by Jacques Cartier made for the Maharaja of Nawanagar. 

 

Longines awards first Lindbergh prize to the aviator’s grandson, Erik Lindbergh.

Longines was honoured to present the very first Longines Lindbergh Award during a ceremony held in New York. In the spirit of elegance and performance dear to the Swiss watchmaker, the first laureate to receive the prize, honouring a person of Charles Lindbergh's pioneering character, was none other than Erik Lindbergh, grandson of Charles Lindbergh. 

 

GJEPC: De Beers to launch Fashion Jewellery Brand Lightbox Using Lab-Grown Diamonds.

GJEPC expects De Beers will drive product categorisation and differentiation between Synthetics and Natural Diamonds with launch of its Lightbox Brand. De-Beers informed its foray into synthetic diamond business with the launch of a new line of fashion jewellery in September, 2018. Introduction of the Lab created Diamond jewellery by Lightbox will position synthetics appropriately – “non-precious accessories”, which is a small and distinct market.

More vibrant colors for Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver

Audemars Piguet introduces a new range of colours for Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver in the Middle Easter. Presented in Tropical Turquoise, Beige Means Business and Khaki Has Character, the three new funky colours take a chill pill and are designed to be worn all-year-round. These new additions to the collection have a 42mm stainless steel case with glare-proof sapphire crystal and case back, and are powered by a selfwinding manufacture movement. These new coloured timepieces join the existing white, dark blue, acid yellow, lime green and bright orange versions available.

 

Hysek presents Furtif Chronograph Grande Date

The key features in his latest Furtif collection include a rectangular case and is located in the heart of a titanium and rose gold case, with mobile lugs for better ergonomics and adorned with a sapphire glass screwed into four points to maximize its readability. Its HW4057 calibre, comprising 416 components, represents the noblest interpretation of the chronograph with a column wheel to coordinate its functions. This timepiece can be worn in a relaxing way on hand-sewn alligator strap, closed by a double security fold-over buckle. 

 

IWC expands the Portofino line with two new models.

IWC Schaffhausen is expanding its traditional Portofino Collection by introducing two new variants of the Portofino Hand-Wound Eight Days with a particular aesthetic charm. On the first, the grey suede strap – used for the first time by IWC – harmonises perfectly with the slate-coloured dial. With the second, the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer combines a steel Milanaise mesh bracelet with a blue dial for the first time to produce an additional variant.
