Patek Philippe inaugurates the grand exhibition “Watch Art” Tokyo 2023

For the sixth of its grand exhibitions across the world, Patek Philippe has chosen one of its leading markets: Japan. From 10 to 25 June 2023, the public and devotees may immerse themselves in the world of the last remaining independent family-owned Genevan watch manufacture. Here they will discover a decor of more than 2,500 square meters transporting them to the atmosphere of the streets of Geneva and the lakeside and taking them behind the scenes of Patek Philippe itself. The largest exhibition ever organized by the manufacture, this event is accompanied by the launch of six limited editions and a rich collection of pieces showcasing the rare handcrafts. The grand exhibition “Watch Art” Tokyo 2023 brings together more than 500 timepieces and objects illustrating a wealth of different types of expertise.

Chopard World Sponsor & Official Timekeeper of the 1000 Miglia 2023

Chopard has announced its return to Brescia for the 36th time in succession as the World Sponsor and Official Timekeeper of the 1000 Miglia – otherwise known as ‘the most beautiful race in the world’. The partnership represents one of the longest in history between a watchmaker and an automobile event, signifying Chopard’s well-known love of classic cars and its passion for motorsport. That passion is further confirmed by the fact that 2023 marks the 35th occasion that Chopard co-president Karl-Friedrich Scheufele will compete in the race from Brescia to Rome and back, having first taken part in 1989 with six-times Le Mans 24 Hours winner Jacky Ickx in the navigator’s seat. And, of course, Chopard will continue its tradition of introducing new Mille Miglia timepieces, with four Mille Miglia Classic Chronographs, plus an additional, very special ‘Italian Limited Edition’ of the Mille Miglia GTS Chronograph – some of the proceeds from which will be donated to victims of the recent Emilia-Romagna flood disaster.

Introducing the Macri Classica watches by Buccellati

The Macri Classica watch has the iconic shape of the Buccellati cuff bracelets, “rigato” handengraved, with the addition of a new “ornato” engraving all along the circumference and sides of the case. Shiny brilliant-cut diamonds stand out on a tiny ‘ornato’ decoration. As for jewellery, the watches are available in different gold colors, including black gold, obtained through the DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) treatment. The watch dials are in mother-of-pearl for the yellow gold version and in radially “rigato” engraved technical material for the combination with other colors of gold. The hands and numbers are selected of a colour, which must stand out on the background. The main line of these ladies’ watches is now reinvented in two innovative versions: the first one provides a model for each gold colour with the addition of 226 diamonds (1.60 carat approx.) All around the case, on the dial and obviously on the bracelet, in a refined exercise of hand-setting.

Ulysse Nardin launches Diver Net Azure and Diver X Skeleton Azure

To celebrate World Oceans Day, Ulysse Nardin has chosen azure blue. This aquatic shade refreshes the Diver X Skeleton, which remains powerful and ultra-accurate even in the Ocean depths, and the Diver Net, which offers innovative durability. The ultra-technical and powerful Diver X Skeleton Azure revolutionises the aesthetics of diving watches. With its titanium DLC case water-resistant to 200 metres, this extraordinary piece presents a dynamic skeletonised face/dial marked with an X in deep black and azure blue. The transparency of the dial and movement draws the eye deep into the heart of the mechanism. Carbonium®, a light and resistant technical composite, tops the barrel cover and the unidirectional rotating bezel for measuring immersion times.
