LVMH Posts Slight Revenue Decline in Q1 2025 Amid Market Uncertainty

LVMH, the world’s foremost luxury conglomerate, has released its Q1 2025 sales figures, covering the period ending March 31. While the group ended 2024 on a strong note with a slight revenue uptick that compensated for mid-year dips, the broader geopolitical and economic context has grown increasingly uncertain. Challenges such as U.S. tariff tensions and economic headwinds in China have begun to impact luxury consumption. Nevertheless, LVMH demonstrated resilience in the first quarter of 2025, maintaining solid performance in select segments — particularly Watches & Jewelry.

Van Cleef & Arpels Celebrates the Emergent Designer Prize’s 10th Anniversary with Tashkeel

Van Cleef & Arpels, in collaboration with Tashkeel, proudly marks the 10th anniversary of the Emergent Designer Prize with a special exhibition at the newly renovated Tashkeel Nad Al Sheba. The exhibition pays tribute to creativity, showcasing the winning works of designers from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait. This year’s exhibition shines a spotlight on the latest winner, Hajar Al Tenaiji, alongside the outstanding creations of past winners and finalists. The exhibition also features the works of this year’s finalists, showcasing the breadth of talent emerging from the region, including Lamies Yahya and Khaled Al Kathir. The exhibition will run for seven weeks, from April 15th - June 3rd, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore a decade of design excellence and innovation.

 

The Palme d’or

Acknowledged as the ultimate accolade in the seventh art, the Palme d'or is celebrating its 70th anniversary. The mere mention of its name brings to mind endless silver-screen memories, as well as the admiration Chopard nurtures for the Cannes Film Festival, to which it has served as official partner since 1998. The Maison’s privilege of designing and creating the Palme d’or as well as all Festival awards is attributable to its Co-President and Artistic Director Caroline Scheufele. No less than 70 hours of work and precious expertise are required to craft the trophy in Chopard's Haute Joaillerie workshops in Geneva. The 78th Cannes Film Festival will take place from 13 to 24 May 2025. The jury will once again be chaired by a woman in the person of Juliette Binoche.

This is how the 34th edition of Première sees jewellery: contemporary design combined with the heritage of made-in-Italy jewellery tradition, objects that change with the body's movements. The contest at Oroarezzo, the show organized by Italian Exhibition Group scheduled to take place from 10th to 13th May at Arezzo Fiere e Congressi in the Italian city of Arezzo - Tuscany, celebrates the productive and creative excellence of Made in Italy in the gold, silver and jewellery sector.
