Riyadh International Luxury Week concluded with great success

Riyadh International Luxury Week has met with great success since its opening on 24th and has been extended for a day to meet demand; the event was concluded on 28th May. Visitors have been left in awe of the creations on display, with queues forming outside some booths for those wishing to get up close with a plethora of glittering gems and pioneering timepieces. Both Seminars arranged in line with the Riyadh International Luxury Week were also at full capacity. Sponsored by world-renowned Sotheby’s, the largest, most trusted and dynamic marketplace for art and luxury, it was the first time such panels have been held in Saudi Arabia.

Audemars Piguet unveils New Mark Ronson Track featuring Lucky Daye

Audemars Piguet has revealed Mark Ronson’s new song “Too Much” featuring R&B artist Lucky Daye, who received the 2022 Grammy for Best Progressive R&B Album for his EP Table for Two. “Too Much” represents the culmination of the two artists’ collaboration documented in the brand’s miniseries Syncing Sounds, the last episode of which can now be viewed on YouTube as well as on Audemars Piguet’s website and social channels. Falling within the scope of Audemars Piguet’s music programme debuted in 2019, the three-episode series Syncing Sounds brings the audience to the heart of Mark Ronson’s collaborative process as he works with Lucky Daye on the composition and creation of the song entitled “Too Much” in his recording studio located in New York City. This miniseries represents the first project of the brand’s long-lasting partnership with the 7-time Grammy-Award winning artist and producer – a collaborative venture which promises many more surprises to come.

Tiffany & Co. and NBA introduce new lineup of reimagined trophies

The National Basketball Association (NBA) today unveiled a lineup of reimagined trophies for the NBA postseason, including an evolution of the Larry O’Brien Trophy, awarded annually to the NBA champions.  The six trophies, designed in collaboration with artist Victor Solomon and Tiffany & Co., are named after NBA legends who have helped shape the league and represent the standards of postseason excellence. The NBA’s relationship with Tiffany & Co. spans 45 years, with the American luxury house having designed and manufactured the Larry O’Brien Trophy since 1977, the league’s conference championship trophies since 2001 and the Bill Russell Trophy (NBA Finals MVP) since 2005.

Golf is an excellent testing ground for Mille’s watches because it is a sport that requires physical strength. On the wrist of a very great hitter like Bubba Watson, a watch must be able to withstand the stresses of hard stops and drastic accelerations. The baseplate supports grade 5 titanium bridges giving the movement powerful dynamics. They firmly maintain the involute gear wheels and the tourbillon fitted with a variable-inertia balance wheel. The open-work bridge incorporates two tubes that pass through the movement on either side. In grade 5 titanium and hand painted in the coveted pink colour, they further accentuate the general lines of the calibre. The colour is a nod to Bubba’s iconic Ping driver, and brings subtle touches of pink inside the movement. The watch is limited edition of 50 pieces.

 

H. Moser & Cie. launches Endeavour Concept Minute Repeater Tourbillon Aqua Blue

Paying tribute to age-old expertise in a resolutely contemporary way, H. Moser & Cie. has launched a new minute repeater movement in a 40 mm diameter 5N red gold or titanium case. With the Endeavour Concept Minute Repeater Tourbillon Aqua Blue, H. Moser & Cie. presents one of the most traditional and romantic watch complications and combines it with a magnificent flying tourbillon performing a spinning waltz. Drawing attention to the minute repeater mechanism, it has taken the bold decision to position the two shaped gongs and the hammers on the dial side, in a brand-new design. This involved overcoming many technical challenges. In particular, the chimes (which are placed on one level to preserve the finesse of the piece) had to be curved so as not to interfere with the flying tourbillon and to respect H. Moser & Cie.'s overarching goal of keeping the design understated.
