13th edition of Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition

Doha’s Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) will return in 2016 between 23-27 February at the new Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC), organizers Qatar Tourism Authority have announced. For the first time since its inception, the DJWE will feature jewellery and watches workshops for enthusiasts and designers to learn from experts on creating their own pieces. Many celebrated brands will be returning to the exhibition in 2016, including each of the 500 that attended the 2015 edition, while many more than previously will be participating for the first time in 2016, and an unprecedented 30,000 visitors are expected.

LVMH takes minority stake in Italian jeweller Repossi

LVMH has taken a minority stake in Italian jeweller Repossi to help it expand its distribution network, the two parties said yesterday. “Given the reality of the market and competition today, I have decided to open up the company’s capital and LVMH has taken a minority stake,” said the brand’s creative director, Gaia Repossi, in an interview with the French newspaper Le Figaro. The Repossi collection is sold at 90 locations in the world. Its turnover is estimated at around 15 million euros ($15.8 million; Dh58 million).
