Bvlgari celebrates Italian Excellence at Expo 2020 Dubai

With the official launch of Expo 2020 Dubai, the Italian Pavilion opens its doors to the many initiatives promoted by Bvlgari and inspired by the event’s evocative motto, “Beauty Connects People”. Bvlgari’s proposals are articulated on a gourmet level in the Pavilion restaurant, the social hub and place to meet: for the entire duration of Expo 2020 Dubai, the space is managed by Il Ristorante - Niko Romito of Bvlgari Resort Dubai. The cultural proposals of the brand - platinum sponsor of Expo 2020 Dubai - begin 1 October with a fascinating mix of jewelry and contemporary art by artist Simone Lingua: the Sotiria installation - named in tribute to Sotirio Bvlgari, the company’s founder - will dominate the central section of the Pavilion with an extension of 150 square meters. Returning to the inspiration that unites art and jewelry, the Bvlgari Contemporary Art Award in collaboration with Dubai Culture, will kick off. By mid October the names of the finalist artists will be officially communicated and the winner’s award ceremony is scheduled for early February 2022.

 

Caroline Scheufele and Natalia Vodianova celebrates Chopard’s support to the Naked Heart Foundation

Driven by a deep-felt desire to support noble causes, Chopard has chosen to associate since 2018 its Happy Hearts Collection with the Naked Heart Foundation. To help fund programmes that benefit children with special needs, the Maison has crafted a special edition piece adorned with pink mother-of-pearl hearts, from which part of the proceeds is donated to the foundation set up in 2004 by Natalia Vodianova. Due to the big-hearted nature shared by Chopard and the Naked Heart Foundation, their respective representatives – Caroline Scheufele and Natalia Vodianova – renewed their collaboration at a cocktail party and dinner at the Ritz Hotel. Among guests were Hiba Abouk, Joséphine Japy, Camille Razat, Hasen Frida, Sacha Luss and Amy Jackson.

Gucci 25H Advertising Campaign

Gucci has recently announced the launch of a campaign dedicated to the new GUCCI 25H, showcasing the watch design in a series of striking compositions and a video inspired by the art of watchmaking. The automatic edition of the GUCCI 25H is the House’s first mechanical watch in the super-slim sports-luxe mode, fitted with a debut in-house calibre, the GG727.25. In recognition of this milestone moment in Gucci’s watchmaking history and celebrating the timepiece’s multi-layered design, the campaign is shot in a watchmaker’s studio. It includes portraits of models ‘at work’ wearing GUCCI 25H styles and still life representations of the watches, all set among technical drawings, cogs, dials and movements. The GUCCI 25H automatic steel edition takes center stage in the new imagery. Capturing the design’s impressively thin 7.2mm case, sleek bezel and contemporary architectural details, the images composition also highlights its satin-brushed finishing and dark-grey horizontal lines.

 

Mouawad Diamond Impact Fund Video Campaign

“Crafting the extraordinary” is not only a commitment by Mouawad to create incredible masterpieces but also to make a meaningful global impact. This is the subject highlighted by a Mouawad video that explores the power of diamonds and the work of the Mouawad Diamond Impact Fund (MDIF). MDIF is a permanent, philanthropic initiative by Mouawad, whose purpose is to create a world where individuals have better opportunities to thrive and prosper, regardless of their race, gender or socio-economic status. MDIF focuses on bettering lives through education and skills development. The Mouawad video includes footage of five South African nationals who were supported by an MDIF-funded program in collaboration with the South African State Diamond Trader that offered specialised training at Mouawad’s Bangkok Diamond Manufacturing facility. Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi, a South African national, appears in the video to lend her support to the message that no matter what is on the outside, it’s on the inside that makes us human.

 

Piaget presents Polo 36mm Influencer Campaign

For the launch of the Piaget Polo Date 36mm, Piaget introduces an extension of the global campaign with a regional twist shot in the Middle East. It is grounded in a vibrant sense of joy and exuberance and brings together a cast of talents to celebrate this launch, and Piaget’s strong links to the Middle East. The campaign features media personalities such as Sara Murad and Zoya Sakr, who reflect the brand’s sense of style and refinement, with a colorful spin. Featured are also leading identities from Dubai’s creative landscape, including Leena Al Ghouti, Parvane Barret, Wathek Phillipe, Lana al Beik and Mohammed and Humaid Hadban (better known as Twins Hadban), who capture the effervescence of the Piaget Polo. Blancpain reaveals Ocean Photography Awards and Female Fifty Fathoms winners

In June 2021, Blancpain announced its partnership with Oceanographic Magazine and its Ocean Photography Awards (OPA). To mark the occasion, the Manufacture de Haute Horlogerie created the special Female Fifty Fathoms (FFF) Award to encourage more women to share their vision of the oceans. The competition organisers and Blancpain revealed the winners at an event held at the Brand's London Boutique on Thursday 16 September. The event also marked the launch of a pop-up exhibition, which will run until 20 October at 11 Bond Street. In parallel, on 18 September, an open-air gallery will be set up along the Thames (The Queen's Walk) to present the winning photographs to the general public with the aim of raising awareness of the beauty of the oceans.

Chopard introduces Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF in titanium

Since its launch in 2019, the Alpine Eagle collection has exceeded all expectations. Chopard is now enriching it with the Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF model: a 41 mm-diameter watch that is a modest 9.75 mm thick, very light, extremely robust thanks to the use of titanium and equipped with an outstanding calibre. It beats at the exceptional frequency of 8 Hertz, meaning twice as fast as a standard automatic movement. This performance is not a mere technical detail but instead an essential attribute, as this high frequency is used to achieve maximum precision, without sacrificing any of its comfort attributes. In addition to its light weight, the Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF features a comfortable and practical 60-hour power reserve, as well as 'Chronometer' certification issued by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). The timepiece is a limited edition of just 250 timepieces.  

 

Presenting Récital 27, Récital 23 & Monsieur Bovet dressed with Turquoise Guilloché Dials

In 2021, the House of BOVET is featuring turquoise guilloche dials across its collections. The iconic Récital 27, Récital 23 and Monsieur Bovet are some of the timepieces adorned in this stunning color. Here the guilloché pattern is applied to the base dial in the Manufacture, then topped with layer upon layer of translucent colored lacquer by our in-house artisans. Once the lacquer has dried, it is polished so that the pattern of the guilloché can be revealed and catch the light as the timepiece moves. These guilloché dials are special, because they have a color-changing quality when the light hits them. From one angle, it looks like a deep, dark blue, but from another angle, it looks bright turquoise. You can get lost in these dials just by turning the timepiece in your hand, admiring the dial.

 

Moon Race - A journey through space by Louis Moinet

« Moon Race » is perhaps the most exciting epic of modern times. This space race is staged through four key episodes in the conquest of the Moon. It combines the finest craftsmanship with lunar meteorite and the most spectacular natural stones. These four creations all feature an authentic fragment of the spacecraft that shaped history. Each of them has travelled more than a million kilometres in interplanetary space before being presented in the Louis Moinet travel trunk, which invites you on a journey through space. The trunk evokes the journey through space. It houses the four one-of-a-kind "Moon Race" creations. It is made of natural elm burr wood and adorned with a black-lacquered Fleur de Lys pattern. The domed lid is topped by two cognac-coloured leather straps. Its interior is made of black leather, and the inside of the cover features an 18th century treasure: the drawings of the Sphere of Copernicus & Sphere of Ptolemy, by Buy de Mornas. 

 

Bell & Ross launches BR 05 SKELETON GOLD

Lovers of mechanical craftsmanship will be seduced by this exclusive edition of 99 pieces. The all-gold finish accentuates the monobloc aspect of the model. In total, 155 grams of gold make up the new BR 05 SKELETON GOLD. The open dial features 18 ct rose gold gilded appliqué indices and forms a clear window through which the 18 ct rose goldplated skeleton movement can be admired. Panerai Luminor "Skull" Ref. LN065C by Label Noir

Reinterpreting a great classic, the Panerai Luminor, and evoking a visual emotion. Label Noir, the Geneva-based specialist in customisation, once again enchants us with a symbolically charged, subtle and surprising creation in an exclusive 10-piece edition. Eighty-one brass nails in BlackGold, a grey-black colour obtained using a slightly acidic bath, are positioned with great precision, forming the framework of the piece. Following a rigorous path, the dexterity of a skilled hand wraps around them a copper wire only 0.15mm thick and approximately one metre long. Patience is essential. Two days of indispensable braiding are needed to finalise the skull. The contrast of the colours makes it stand out perfectly.  This masterful composition is protected by the 44mm diameter titanium case of the Panerai Luminor PAM 562. In order to accentuate the striking visual effect, a Titalyt treatment gives it a contemporary and elegant matt grey shade. 

 

MB&F presents the HM10 Panda for Only Watch

This year marks the ninth edition of Only Watch, a biennial charity auction of one-of-a-kind timepieces where 99 per cent of proceeds go to fund research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a genetic disorder characterized by progressive muscle degeneration primarily affecting young boys. For this edition, MB&F has transformed its Horological Machine No10 – aka HM10 Bulldog – into a panda bear, one of the rarest and cutest of the world’s mammals, much-loved by children and adults alike. The base of this new unique piece for Only Watch is Horological Machine N°10 with its rounded, compact body that lends itself perfectly to the shape of the cuddly panda. The top section of the case is coated in black and white lacquer to mimic the animal’s colouring. To accommodate the lacquer, the top section of the standard HM10 titanium case had to be specially crafted for this Pièce Unique in stainless steel. Other unique features include two black titanium panda ears, added atop the sapphire crystal dome, and a rather cute ceramic tail crafted from machined Grade 5 silicon nitride.

Presenting Le Régulateur Louis Erard x atelier oï

Louis Erard invited atelier oï to look into the question and the answer is a new original dial, the third part of the series of collaborations already co-signed by Alain Silberstein and Vianney Halter. Breaking new ground, the collaboration leaves the strict field of watchmaking, since atelier oï works in the fields of architecture and design. Le Régulateur has naturally imposed its own rhythm: the hands (hour, minute, second) become centres from which rays emerge, generating visual kinetics that each movement of the wrist animates, giving the two-dimensional dial the depth of a radiant architecture. A pure work of art, which nothing can break, not even the Louis Erard logo. Reading the time comes out somewhat dematerialised - you have to mentally reconstruct the puzzle of hour angles - but all the links are not broken: the minute-circle still appears around the edge of the dial, with a more pronounced line every five minutes and exactly sixty segments. The timepiece is limited edition of 178 pieces.

 

RESERVOIR Watches launches the Kanister Collection

Inspired by the legendary 356 Speedster car speedometer, the pastel green minute indexes, a red area, a black dial and a white hand are housed in a grade 5 titanium case with polished finishes which complete the elegant design of this series. Worn on a leather strap like bucket seats of the time, the Kanister Collection pays tribute to the spirit of freedom of the 1950s decade. The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) hosted another edition of India Global Connect, a business networking meet, with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 23rd September 2021. The meet provided a virtual platform to the gem and jewellery manufacturers, retailers and wholesalers from India to connect with the trade in the UAE to explore business opportunities. The participants discussed the current economic and business scenario, jewellery trends, trade procedures, to further strengthen ties between the two countries. The virtual meet was attended by H.E.
