Jewellery Arabia 2015 world’s most valuable guitar to make a splash

The world’s most valuable guitar will make its Middle East debut at Jewellery Arabia 2015 as part of a global tour. The CORONET® Gibson guitar has an estimated value of US$ 2 million and will be unveiled on 24 November 2015 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre. The fully functional musical instrument is adorned with diamonds and white gold. Brought together by legendary guitar maker Gibson Brands, Hong Kong-based founder of the CORONET® brand Aaron Shum Jewelry, and musician / artist Mark Lui. The diamond encrusted masterpiece named “Eden of CORONET®” is the most valuable guitar ever as certified by Guinness World Records in March 2015. Jewellery Arabia, now in its 24th successful year, is the largest and most prestigious jewellery exhibition in the Middle East. It takes place from 24 – 28 November 2015 under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The 11th Middle East Jewellery of the year Awards

For the 11th successive year, the Middle East Premier Awards for Jewellery will be held on the sidelines of the exhibition at the Four Seasons Hotel on 23 November 2015. Hosted by MPP ME, publishers of the industry magazine title Arabian Watches and Jewellery (AWJ), the Awards are the culmination of an online public voting system and the analysis of an elite committee comprising of jewellery. The ceremony will be a star-studded event with the expected presence of specially invited dignitaries and senior professionals representing the international and regional jewellery industries.

Chopard opens its new Boutique in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The opening of the first Chopard boutique in Panorama Mall Riyadh, Chopard and there  partner Attar United Company, sole boutique franchisee holder for the brand in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, have launched their second boutique at the luxurious Kingdom Centre. With two boutiques now launched in Riyadh, Attar United is already planning the opening of its next boutique in Jeddah.

IWC Schaffhausen announces new Regional Brand Director for the Middle East and India

IWC Schaffhausen recently announced the appointment of Luc Rochereau as Brand Director Middle East & India. Prior to taking on his new role as Regional Brand Director, Rochereau had been responsible for IWC and Roger Dubuis in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Rochereau has 20 years’ experience in the international luxury segment, during which he has amassed a deep and wide-ranging knowledge of the field.

Baume & Mercier along with its partner Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, in the UAE officially reopened the doors to their newly renovated boutique in The Dubai Mall which was held on 13th October 2015. Coinciding with the brand’s milestone 185th anniversary, Baume & Mercier hosted two distinct events to herald the boutique reopening and special occasion. Richard Mille unveils the RM 63-02 World Timer automatic watch

Richard Mille introduces The RM 63-02 World Timer with the rotating bezel in satin-brushed and polished grade-5 titanium. The movement’s designers selected the in-house CRMA3 caliber to drive the RM 63-02. It is assembled around an electroplasma-treated grade-5 titanium plate. The sculptural upper bridge is made from black-rhodium-plated, polished and circular-grained nickel silver, whose round openings provide glimpses of the dial-train and World Timer mechanism in action.

Laurent Ferrier introduces Galet Square

Laurent Ferrier presents its Galet Square with an autumn 5N sun red gold-toned colour. The vertical satin-brushed finish with 11 drop-shaped hour-markers is in white gold.  The movement is still the self-winding calibre with unidirectional pawl-fitted micro-rotor and a three-day power reserve. It is equipped with silicon escapement featuring double direct impulse on the balance. The sapphire crystal case-back provides a fascinating glimpse and reveals an attractively balanced structure stemming from a clever combination of lines and curves. The strap is of chestnut brown alligator leather with Alcantara lining, hand sewn, the pin buckle or double blade folding clasp in stainless steel. 

OMEGA presents the world’s first Master Chronometer

The world’s first Master Chronometer, the finished watch, whose movement is a COSC chronometer, passes tests approved by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS). The stainless steel case features a hard material scratchproof fluted bezel, with a rhodium-plated Constellation star. The caseback includes a stainless steel Central Observatory medallion, while the sun-brushed blue "Pie Pan" dial is reminiscent of the first 1952 Constellation model. A sun-brushed blue dial graces the full stainless steel model, as well as the version in stainless steel and Sedna™ gold. This colour design is continued with a blue leather strap.

Arnold & Son introduces Instrument Collection - DSTB

Arnold & Son unveils a new limited white gold edition of the DSTB (Dial Side True Beat). The DSTB is part of the Instrument Collection; the automatic movement showcases the true beat seconds' mechanism entirely on the dial side. The visible dial plate is blue PVD treated with large circular finishing, and screws with bevelled and mirror-polished heads. The magnificent timepiece is housed inside with white gold case with anti-reflective sapphire crystal and caseback for viewing the superbly finished movement and, complete with red gold guilloché oscillating weight. The strap is hand-stitched black or brown alligator leather.

Concord presents Mariner Lady Diamond watch

The Concord Mariner Lady Diamond Collection is now available in the Middle East. The new Mariner Lady is offered on a simple stainless steel link bracelet with spring deployment buckle and pushers. The glamour emanates from its bezel, set with shimmering diamonds, and a white mother-of-pearl dial inlaid with diamonds set is in clean, modern horizontal rows.

Christie’s Dubai sale of Modern and Contemporary Art and Important Watches

Christie’s auctions of Modern and Contemporary Art and Important Watches which was held in last month in Dubai totaled $10,590,875/ AED 38,900,284, with impressive sell-through rates of 89% and 98% respectively. The Important Watches auction included two pieces donated by Seddiqi & Sons to benefit Dubai Cares, a charitable organization, The Vision I is Hublot’s first titanium watch designed by Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons .The amazing piece was given the name “The Vision” as a tribute to the visions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai.

The Rolex Day-Date 40 Exhibition
