Apple watch with cellular to launch in UAE

The Apple Watch Series 3 with a cellular data connection will arrive in the UAE on June 15, with pre-order starting on June 8. Apple introduced the cellular-enabled device last September. It will allow users to make calls, send messages, stream music and other actions without the need for an iPhone. Users shell out an additional fee to use it. As at posting time, Etisalat is already promoting the device on its website, but no pricing was provided. Du has yet to do so. The Apple Watch Series 3 with cellular will be priced starting at Dh1, 679 for the 38mm version and Dh1, 784 for the 42mm option. 

 

Audemars Piguet’s first stone for the new Hôtel des Horlogers.

The first new Hôtel des Horlogers was laid in Le Brassus, cradle of the Audemars Piguet Manufacture in the heart of the Vallée de Joux.  Present at the ceremony, was Jasmine Audemars, Chairwoman of the Audemars Piguet Board of Directors, Olivier Audemars, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors and François-Henry Bennahmias, CEO of AP.

Cartier celebrated the holy month of Ramadan in the Kingdom by inviting its loyal Saudi clients and friends to share convivial Suhour evenings in Riyadh. This first memorable rendezvous was held in a private Majlis settled at the heart of the Al Faisaliah Tower garden. This Majlis showcased an exhibition paying tribute to Jacques Cartier’s journey in the Gulf one century ago which initiated the longstanding and vibrant links of the Maison with the Kingdom.

Carl F. Bucherer once again impressively demonstrated its innovative capacity with the introduction of the new Manero Tourbillon DoublePeripheral. The CFB T3000 manufacture caliber draws power from its automatic winding system containing a peripheral rotor making the tourbillon feature very distinct. The watch’s precise function is ensured by a tourbillon, which is mounted peripherally and thus appears to float inside the watch. 

 

IWC presents new Portugieser models

IWC Schaffhausen is expanding its Portugieser family to include two classically elegant models. The Swiss luxury watch manufacturer launched its first Portugieser watch in the current collection to have a perpetual calendar and platinum case. In addition, IWC introduced the new Portugieser Automatic in a stainless steel case with a silver-plated dial and rhodium-plated hands. The main feature on the dial of this watch is the perpetual calendar. Developed by Kurt Klaus in the 1980s, the mechanism consists of around 80 parts and displays the date, day, month and moon phase. The second watch Portugieser Automatic comes in a stainless steel case with a silver-plated dial and rhodium-plated hands. This variant most particularly showcases the appliqued Arabic numerals, the railway track chapter ring and the slim feuille hands. The watch is worn on a black alligator leather strap. 

 

Audemars Piguet publishes its first book on 20th century complicated wristwatches

Audemars Piguet released its first ever book dedicated entirely to the history of the manufacturers complicated wristwatches, following 4 years of Archival research and writing on the part of the Heritage Department. The entire story Audemars Piguet’s complicated wristwatches is shared for the first time - comprised of detailed photography, enriching narratives with cultural context, 1st generation historic documents, Archival images, technical specifications and production data. 

 

Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Geographic WT Watch.

The Polaris Geographic WT watch dial’s design highlights the alliance of the two Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris colors: a blue subtly turning to black a true signature for this collection. The smoky blue dial gives the Polaris Geographic WT watch the impression of great depth. It is decorated with three finishing: an opaline base for the city disk, a sunrayed sub-dial housing the calendar at 2 o'clock, and a grained finishing for the case back. 

 

New colors for F.P.Journe élégante Joaillerie

F.P.Journe introduces a new feminine and sensuous version of the élégante Joaillerie set with diamonds and multi-color precious stones to sublimate women’s wrists. The 40 mm Platinum patented ® flat Tortue case is pave-set with diamonds intertwined with rubies, blue sapphires, tsavorites or black diamonds and a powdered satin bracelet of matching colour. The dial is also set with similar stones and a diamond hour circle. The black diamond version features an opposite setting. The folding clap is also set with diamonds. 

 

The Rado HyperChrome Ultra Light

The new HyperChrome Ultra Light is presented in two earthy tones, the bronze and brown pieces are a study in harmonious contrasts. The HyperChrome Ultra-Light makes a strong visual impact – an obvious heavyweight in the style stakes – but, made using ultra light high-tech ceramic. While ultra-light high-tech ceramic (Si3N4) is half the weight of standard Rado high-tech ceramic, it is even harder and more scratch-resistant. The brown version is presented on a sporty, vintage look NATO strap while the bronze edition has a brown aged leather strap.  It’s a perfect example of modern and traditional materials working in perfect harmony.

 

Montegrappa presents Ferracina.

The new Ferracina is offered strictly as a fountain pen, in limited edition of a total 300 pens. It is produced in a series of only 100 pieces in each of three colours of pearlised celluloid: a rich Malachite Green, Shiny Circles made up of shades of grey and Indian Rainbow in beige hues, all with a sterling silver trim. Each pen is fitted with an 18k gold filigree-etched nib. Aptly adorning the top of the cap is the perfect homage to Bartolomeo: it contains a functioning watch, in a 16 mm case in stainless steel. The case, which is detachable from the cap top, contains a slim Miyota quartz movement.
