The UAE’s economy expanded by 3.4% in the first quarter of 2024
The UAE’s economy grew 3.4 per cent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2024 to reach $117.1bn (Dhs430bn), according to the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre, with non-oil GDP growing 4 per cent YoY during the period under review. “The country adopted an innovative economic model that supports its future vision, along with effective national economic strategies, enhancing openness to the world, promoting partnerships, and transitioning towards an economic model based on flexibility and innovation,” Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE Minister of Economy said in a statement. The preliminary data from the statistics authority shows that financial and insurance, trade activities and manufacturing were among the biggest contributors to non-oil GDP. |

Following the relaunch of the brand, A. Lange & Söhne presented their first chronograph, the DATOGRAPH, 25 years ago. In the latest model, the unique alliance of technical complexity and expressive design is enriched with further exceptional elements, created by the artisanal finishers’ hands. The limited HANDWERKSKUNST edition boasts rare and exceedingly sophisticated dial and movement decorations. The black-rhodiumed main dial as well as the rhodiumed, light-grey totalisers of the DATOGRAPH HANDWERKSKUNST feature an ornate tremblage engraving, resulting in a three-dimensional structure with subtle light reflexions. For this technique, the engraver uses a specially crafted lining burin to create a fine-grained surface.

Louis Erard X Kudoke’s limited series offers a minimalist design: hours, minutes, seconds. Framed by a 42 mm polished stainless-steel case, the dial features KUDOKE’s distinctive watchface elements. The railway-track chapter ring, two counter rings as well as the “LOUIS ERARD” and “KUDOKE” nameplates are satin-finished and rhodium-plated. The “12 o’clock” counter is adorned with a “Clous de Paris” hobnail pattern, a ring bearing Roman numerals counter and the iconic infinity-shaped hours hand, while all hands are in blued steel. The lower part of the dial has a grained finish for a frosted effect and comes in three different colors: purple (limited to 78), forest green (100), light blue (100); while the fourth variation is a collector alert with its white mother-of-pearl dial (78). |

With the new BR-03 Horizon, Bell & Ross transposes one of the most iconic flight instruments from an aircraft's dashboard onto the wrist. Essential for pilots, the artificial horizon allows spatial orientation. Original and playful, this watch, limited to 999 pieces, with a unique aesthetic, completes the collection of concept watches directly inspired by onboard instrumentation. The upper part, blue, represents the sky, while the lower part, dark, symbolizes the earth. In the center, the aircraft appears schematically with its wings represented by two red lines. The outer dial graduation indicates the aircraft's lateral tilt angle, while the center one shows the pitch. Combining the round and the square, the identity shape of the House, the BR-03 Horizon replicates the design of this highly symbolic aeronautical tool present in all cockpits. |
