Richemont posts strong growth at mid-year 2018 results.
Richemont announces in press release its consolidated results for the six-month period ending on 30 September 2018. Sales increased by 21% at actual exchange rates to EUR 6,808 million and by 24% at constant exchange rates. This strong increase in sales is mostly driven by the acquisition of Yoox Net-A-Porter Group (YNAP) and second-hand watch dealer Watchfinder. Sales rose by 28% for Europe and 20% for Asia Pacific. For the Jewellery Maisons, sales were up 9% at EUR 3,454 million and profit was up 19% at EUR 1,167 million. The sales growth was more modest for Specialist Watchmakers at +2% (EUR 1,550 million) while the operating result was 3% lower in comparison to last year. Sales corresponding to online distribution were of EUR 893 million.

Winners of the prestigious Middle East Watch and Jewellery of the Year Awards will be announced on the Thursday 15th November, during a private gala event held at the Music Hall in Dubai at the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray Hotel, on the iconic Palm Jumeirah Island. The awards, now in their 14th year are designed to recognise watchmaking and jewellery craftsmanship excellence; winners are judged by an independent group of regional watch connoisseurs and Jewellery professionals and collectors. |

Chopard wraps up a successful second edition of the Chopard Classic Rally in Dubai.
The second edition of the Chopard Classic Rally Dubai, a challenging competitive regularity rally, was successful closed on November 9, 2018. Organized by Chopard, along with partner Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons and Emaar Properties, the Chopard Classic Rally Dubai brought together 30 classic sports cars coming from the United Arab Emirates, Gulf region, Europe and the United States. Race car driver and Chopard ambassador Romain Dumas, competed in this second edition. The awards ceremony and dinner took place at Armani Hotel Dubai where the first place team, driver and co-driver, received the limited edition of the L.U.C 1937 Classic Rally Dubai Special Edition. |
