Graff reports strong profit of +41% with strong demand on Jewellery in the Middle East

In a recent media report, Graff Diamonds revealed that its revenue reached $1 billion with an increase of 30% in retail sales to $922 million in 2014. The brand witnessed a strong demand for its jewels in the Middle East as well as in the Far East regions. In 2014 Graff expanded its network of Boutiques to Hong Kong, and plans to open in Oman, Qatar, Azerbaijan in addition to its newly opened store in Riyadh.

 

Mouawad Celebrates its 125th Anniversary

In a recent press conference held by Pascal Mouawad at the Armani Hotel in Dubai, Mouawad revealed its 125th anniversary celebration by showcasing jewelry designs that feature diamonds, rubies and other colored gemstones, adding a touch of color to its rich history of jewelry making and diamond cutting. To celebrate this occasion in a unique and special way, Mouawad launches two limited-edition jewelry collections, ‘Flower of Eternity’ and ‘Rosette’. A best-selling collection at Mouawad, ‘Flower of Eternity’ features beautiful colors of gemstones and luxuriously modern designs. Made of white gold and set with diamonds, tsavorites and multi-colored sapphires, the line’s new additions include pink, yellow, orange and blue designs available in pendants, earrings and rings. Also Mouawad has revealed its unique oriental perfume in limited edition.

 

VicenzaOro Dubai International Jewellery show inaugurates at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC)

The first edition of the international jewellery show, VicenzaOro Dubai started on April 23rd 2015. The inauguration was graced by the presence of the His Highness Sheikh Hasher Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Director General of Dubai Department of Information and His Excellency Helal Saeed Almarri, director general, department of tourism and commerce marketing. A collaboration between Fiera and the DWTC, the four-day fair, which runs from April 23–26, comprises more than 500 brands from 20 countries, with the heaviest representation coming from Italy, the UAE, and India, and a partnership with the Gem & Jewellery Promotion Council of India (GJEPC).

Blancpain gives tribute to their longtime friend Captain Robert Maloubier

Blancpain and its President & CEO, Marc A. Hayek, learned of the passing of Captain Robert “Bob” Maloubier at the age of 92. A secret agent of the British Special Operations Executive during the Second World War, Bob Maloubier parachuted into France and, subsequently into Asia. In the 1950’s he was the founder and commander, together with Lieutenant Claude Riffaud, of the French military’s combat diving corps. It was in this capacity that he became a part of the history of Blancpain’s Fifty Fathoms watch.

Ulysse Nardin depicts this monumental journey in the Hannibal Minute Repeater. The timepiece is crafted from platinum and genuine granite from the Alps. The dial set is within a platinum case, Hannibal, straddling his horse, appears to be in swift action with one of his loyal elephants and regiment of warriors by his side. These main figures are all hand-carved from white gold and are mounted on granite. Its movement is a caliber UN-78 one-minute tourbillon, integrated and visible on the dial.
