Bulgari jewellery sales rise 14 percent in Q3

Bulgari reported that jewellery sales rose 14 percent in the third quarter. Jewellery sales for the quarter were driven by excellent performance of the brand's "B.zero1" spiral jewelry line and its snake-like "Serpenti" bracelet collection. Net profit for the company reached $22.7 million, an increase of 138 percent compared to third-quarter 2009.

 

Consumer confidence boosts Dubai Luxury Market

The increasing sales of luxury products are sending positive signals about the recovery from the economic financial crisis. According to the TNS Dubai Luxury Retail Market survey, 70 per cent of luxury shoppers tend to buy items that are not on sale, showing that lowering prices would not be such a draw for these buyers. As much as an eight per cent growth in high end sales is expected to be recorded by the end of the year.

Hublot to illuminate the Vendome Column

On 3rd December, the Comite Vendome and Hublot will light up the Vendome Column to mark the monument's bicentenary (it was erected by Napoleon I in 1810 to commemorate his Grande Armee). Jean-Claude Biver, Hublot's CEO, will press the button: this is a major first as the Vendôme Column. This event, the first ever illumination of the column, was made possible by Hublot who wanted an elegant way of celebrating its integration into the Comite Vendome.

On the occasion of BAMBI 2010, Germany’s most important and glamorous media award event, Shakira chose to wear Chopard jewels for the ceremony. While Orlando Bloom, who received the BAMBI trophy in the Charity category, awarding his personal involvement in UNICEF activities, chose to wear a Chopard Grand Prix de Monaco Historique watch. The BAMBI trophy is proudly manufactured in the workshops of Chopard in Geneva.

 

Glashutte Original announces partnership with "Berlinale"

Glashutte Original has signed a three-year partnership agreement with the Berlin International Film Festival “Berlinale”, Germany’s largest cultural event and one of the leading film festivals in the world. The agreement calls for Glashutte Original to serve as Co-Partner of the Berlinale, starting with the 61st edition of the festival set to begin February 10th, 2011.

Jean-Francois Mojon receives award at the Grand Prix D’Horlogerie

Jean-Francois Mojon, OPUS X watch engineer has been awarded the prize for Best Watchmaker of the Year at The 2010 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Geneve. Jean-Francois started his collaboration with Harry Winston Timepiece team in 2006 with the Lady Z then worked on the development of an exclusive movement for Project z6. In 2008, he came with a brilliant idea that would give birth to the OPUS X, unveiled last year at Baselworld international fair.
