Bulgari presents the Octo Finissimo Automatic & Customised Serpenti Concept

Bulgari opens 2017 Baselworld introducing a new world record, the Octo Finissimo Automatic, the slimmest ultra-thin self-winding watch on the market to date. After introducing its Tourbillon in 2014 and a Minute Repeater in 2016, Bulgari has unveiled its new creation featuring a total thickness of just 5.15mm, while its self-winding movement is just 2.23mm for a 40mm diameter equipped with a platinum micro-rotor. Bulgari has developed an in-house movement to drive the Octo Finissimo Automatic: Calibre BVL 138. An offset small seconds hand adds an additional to refinement. To ensure smooth energy regulation, it beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and has a 60-hour power reserve. Bulgari also introduced a major evolution of its icon: Serpenti.  Eternally youthful, the new Serpenti opens a new field of expression. The icon adopts double wrap-around straps made from multicolour exotic leathers. A natural and legitimate continuation of the Serpenti saga, these new straps are made from karung, whose skin is particularly resistant and supple.
Bulgari CEO Jean-Christophe Babin and Bulgari Horlogerie MD Guido Terreni, alongside several Brand Ambassadors who joined on stage, led the press conference that has been followed by the discovery of the booth highlighting Bulgari’s unique blend of Swiss watchmaking expertise and Italian design before enjoying a cocktail gathering the five celebrities and the numerous press representatives.

OMEGA Celebrates 60th Anniversary of 3 Iconic Watches

In 1957, OMEGA released three professional timepieces; The Seamaster 300, the Railmaster and the Speedmaster. Today the Swiss brand is paying tribute to these three mechanical masterpieces by releasing special 60th Anniversary editions of each model. The “Broad Arrow” was not only the first Speedmaster, it was also the first chronograph wristwatch in the world with its tachymeter scale on the bezel as opposed to printed on the dial. The new 2017 Speedmaster stays true to the original design with its perfect match of the original '57 tachymeter. The 1957 Railmaster was designed for those working close to electrical fields; and though the new model retains the original's unpretentious style, its Master Chronometer 8806 movement takes antimagnetic to a whole new level, resisting fields of 15,000 gauss. The new Seamaster 300 features a black aluminium bezel and retains the famous Naïad sign on the crown, which back in '57 was a mark of exceptional water resistance. Each watch is limited to 3,557 pieces and is delivered inside a presentation box inspired by the original 1957 packaging, right down to the Seahorse on the lid, a retro logo and beige corduroy lining. The box also contains two spare straps; leather and NATO, as well as a tool to change them.

Grande Seconde Moon an Emblematic Model of the Jaquet Droz Philosophy

Jaquet Droz integrated the moon phase into one of its legendary models, the Grande Seconde, while remaining perfectly true to the silhouette of the timepiece whose two interlaced dials form a figure eight, the symbol of completion and plenitude, and lucky number of the brand known by its twin stars. The Swiss watchmaker chose a so-called astronomical moon phase, requiring adjustment only once every 122 years and 46 days. Absolutely striking with its clean look and classic lines valued by Jaquet Droz, the ivory enamel version is adorned with an applied satin-finish red gold circular ring, echoing the light of the 43 mm case featured in the three available versions. The magic and poetic Grande Seconde Moon by Jaquet Droz is not simply a watch adorned with the luxurious effects of light of onyx, gold and silvery opaline

A Ferrari Design for a Hublot Celebrating Ferrari’s 70th Anniversary

To celebrate Ferrari's 70th anniversary, Hublot presented the Techframe Ferrari 70 years Tourbillon Chronograph. The watch is designed by Ferrari using the same creative processes as that used to develop a new sports car. The starting point for the designers was the Hublot movement around which they freely designed a high performance chassis. The black structure on the dial holds the chronograph counters and offers excellent legibility. The crown at 4 o'clock —raised by a black PVD Titanium insert decorated with the famous Prancing Horse—reduces the size of the watch to the greatest possible extent, and increases its aerodynamic look. Finally, the red push-button is strategically placed to facilitate its use and makes the design more ergonomic Available in King Gold, Titanium versions, the new Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph is also offered in PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone) Carbon, a multi-layer hypo-allergenic material—made from particularly long carbon fibres—that is extremely durable and reliable.

Geo.Graham Orrery Tourbillon

Graham released a new edition of the Geo.Graham Orrery Tourbillon, the Swiss watch maker did some changes on the watch that was first launched in 2013. The planetarium-style display of the Sun, Earth, Moon, and Mars on the dial now has different materials for the planets and the moon. The Earth is represented by a 3.2mm-wide polished sphere of Kingman Turquoise, while the Moon and Mars are each respectively made out of meteorites which have fallen to Earth and are said to have originated from the planetary bodies they represent. The largest solar system feature on the dial is the sun, which is represented with a hand-engraved 18k pink gold bridge over the tourbillon that if you look closely has dual phoenix heads in it. The movement inside of the Graham Geo.Graham Orrery Tourbillon is the caliber G1800 Tourbillon Orrery with a power reserve of three days. The watch case is large at 48mm wide in pink gold, and will be released in limited edition of eight pieces.
