Dubai Watch Week 2017 Five Days of Nonstop Horology.

The biggest watch event in the Middle East opened its doors last Thursday the 16th of November, comprising five days of nonstop horology, including exhibitions, workshops and panel discussions. The event organized by Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons took place at The Gate within the Dubai International Financial Centre, and was open to the public, though registration.

Dubai Watch Week literally encompasses the entire spectrum of the watch industry, from establishment brands to independent watchmaking, and from retailers to auction houses.

One of the highlights of the weeklong event were the exhibits put on by watchmakers ranging from A. Lange & Söhne to F.P. Journe. The displays included some newly launched watches, with Urwerk and Ferdinand Berthoud, Armin Strom, Jaeger leCoultre, and many others.

Chopard wraps up a successful first edition of the Chopard Classic Rally in Dubai.

The first edition of the Chopard Classic Rally Dubai was held for the first year in the United Arab Emirates, on November 10 and 11. Organized by Chopard, along with partner Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons and Emaar Properties, the Chopard Classic Rally Dubai brought together 60 classic cars aficionados coming from the United Arab Emirates, Gulf region, Europe and the United States.  Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Chopard Co-President and a passionate driver of collectors’ cars, took part in this first edition, competing along with legendary pilot Jacky Ick.

Tiffany & Co announced the appointment of Joe Nahas as Vice President for operations in the Middle East and Africa. From the regional headquarters of the luxury brand in Dubai, Mr. Nahas will oversee the business development and expansion of the company in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa markets. He has extensive experience in retail, branding and loyalty programs, working in the UK and the Middle East. Joe Nahas holds an MBA from London Business School and a Bachelor of Science from Imperial College, London.

Chopard launches L.U.C XP Urushi Year of the Dog watch.

Chopard L.U.C watch issued in an 88-piece limited series: The L.U.C XP Urushi –Year of the dog. At the heart of the ultra-thin case measuring 39.5 mm in diameter and 6.8 mm thick beats the mechanical self-winding L.U.C 96.17-L movement. The calibre is visible through the transparent exhibition back of the 18-carat rose gold case. Hand-sewn black alligator leather strap. 

 

H. MOSER & CIE introduces ENDEAVOUR TOURBILLON CONCEPT.

The Endeavour Tourbillon Concept comes in a 42mm white gold case, which uses the signature design of the brand (with concave casebands and straight brushings on the sides). The dial might be nude, it remains fully Moser too, with the use of the fumé style (darker on the edges) and the funky blue colour. Combined to this is a hand-stitched kudu leather strap, again something recurrent for the brand.

 

TAG Heuer introduces exclusive UAE ‘Autavia’ at Dubai Watch Week 2017 edition.

TAG Heuer in partnership with Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons unveils the iconic timepiece with a UAE exclusive, launched at Dubai Watch Week (DWW) from November 16 to 20. As per Jean-Claude Biver, TAG Heuer CEO and President of the LVMH Watch Group Division “This timepiece was inspired by the automotive heritage shared by the UAE and TAG Heuer, it pays tribute to the UAE through its tropical dial, reminiscent of its desert sands”.
