The iconic time piece Swatch watch celebrates its 30^th anniversary with a millstone concept watch system51. This totally new mechanical movement shows the aesthetic of the mechanics and typical of Swatch. It consists of 51 parts exactly the same number as in the very first Swatch back in 1983. With the help of the Engineers at Swatch the number of screws will be reduced to make this minimalism possible with lone central screws affixes the components which are welded to one another. Inside the watch there are several innovations recorded. The movement is protected by 17 new patents with 90 hour power reserve. This innovative movement is assembled fully automatically. This world premier according to Swatch’s Group CEO Nick Hayek will be available this October and the price will range between Swiss Franc 100- 200 only and we plan to sell millions of these special innovative movements.

Harry Winston presented the OPUS XIII: EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED

There are only a few different ways you can measure time in a mechanical watch, but when it comes to showing it, the field is wide open to inventiveness and originality. Harry Winston takes full advantage of this in Opus XIII to combine all the emotions that have made the Opus Series legendary: innovation, astonishment, awe. Opus XIII once again defies the conventional rules of watchmaking. Fifty-nine pivoting minutes hands, eleven rotating triangles for the hours, and a sliding trapdoor perform a magic show where minutes and hours appear or vanish instantly — and, of course, tell the time.  Minutes accumulate around a track, each five minutes in red, withdrawing in unison when they complete the circle of the hour. Silver triangles spring in turn from a faceted dome to show the hours, rotating back when their duty’s done. Every twelve hours, Harry Winston’s logo is revealed on the dial, only to vanish sixty minutes later. The fifty-nine minutes hands pivot on a ring of as many steel shafts, each held between two ruby bearings, bringing the number of jewels in the timepiece to 242. No other timepiece ever made has as many functional jewels. Each bearing has to be set and adjusted to the utmost precision — a test of the watchmaker’s dexterity and patience. The ruby ball bearings for the sliding shutter are so tiny that the package had to be opened in a non-static environment lest they fly off. Don’t expect a massive timepiece, in fact the Opus XIII looks relatively discreet, even mysterious, its inner workings covered by a facetted dome. Beneath a smoked sapphire crystal you catch a glimpse of what looks like the fan of a jet engine. This is an extraordinary component, comprising fifty-nine jumper springs — one for each minutes hand — carved from a single piece of steel using LIGA technology (lithography, electroplating and molding). The blades had to be adjusted with a file in numerous prototypes until the component could be manufactured with the exactly right tension in each spring.

Hublot unveils the “Snow Leopard Maria Hofl-Riesch” Big Bang

Hublot has always had close links with the mountains and skiing. This is, of course, due to its origins and the fact that Swiss culture is so firmly entrenched in its values, but also due to its close links with the world of sport in general… The rapport between the skier Maria Hofl-Riesch and Hublot's management, Jean-Claude Biver and Ricardo Guadalupe, in October 2010 was immediate. Since then, Hublot has paid homage to the brand's ambassador, who is at the peak of her sport – double Olympic Champion and Double World Champion - by creating a "Snow Leopard" Big Bang for her in snow-white ceramic, featuring a dial set with 8 diamonds and limited to 50 pieces. It was unveiled to coincide with the Baselworld trade fair during a special press conference on 26th April 2013, attended by Maria Hofl-Riesch, Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman and Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot. Maria Hofl-Riesch explained why she specifically chose this model: "The snow leopard is my favourite animal, as we have such similar characters. It is a solitary creature, but a fighter, and it emanates this calm strength. Sadly, they are at risk of extinction and there are now just a few remaining. I am delighted that Hublot has created a watch inspired by this animal - and the fact that it bears my name fills me with pride".

The New RADO – HyperChrome Automatic Chronograph

The new Rado HyperChrome Automatic Chronograph is a landmark in the history of watchmaking, as it world-premieres a 45mm monocoque case that uses injection-moulding technology to combine ceramic with steel. It's also a milestone for the brand as it continues to hone its designs: fluid, subtle and stylish. The emphasis is on contrast with steel side inserts, ceramic pushers, a steel and rubber crown, and rhodium-plated hourmarkers, counters and hands. As well as playing on materials, Rado looks to mat and polished finishes to accentuate this watch's sophisticated yet sporting attitude. Hinting at the mechanics, the moving anchor is visible in an aperture at 12 o'clock. Davidoff - Velocity Gent Automatic Moonphase

Davidoff pays tribute to time and its inextricable connections with the movement of the stars and planets. The black dial of the Velocity Gent Automatic Moonphase gives pride of place to a silvery moon that travels across a matt black disc at 6 o'clock. The steel case is equipped with a bidirectional ceramic rotating bezel with a rubber-coated edge to ensure an optimal grip. The silver-toned inner bezel ring, engraved with a tachometric scale, is directly fixed to the case. The original matt black dial inspired by dashboard counters features a linear small seconds display at 9 o’clock. The back of this limited edition bears an exclusive engraving depicting the famous “tie knot” symbolises the diabolical hairpin curves of the Calobra rally route.
