Palme d'Or 2022 by Chopard

Honouring the 75th anniversary of the world's greatest film festival – with which Chopard has been nurturing a passionate relationship for 25 years – in due style called for an exceptional Palme. The Maison’s Artistic Director and Co-President Caroline Scheufele decided to revisit the Palme d'Or by studding two of its tiny leaves with diamonds from suppliers certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council. One will be graced with 75 diamonds symbolising the Festival's jubilee; while the other will feature 25 diamonds to immortalise the quarter-century of the partnership with Chopard: a double celebration in perfect unison. The Fairmined-certified 18-carat yellow gold Palme will not be placed on the traditional rock crystal cushion, but instead on a base made of rose quartz – a stone symbolising love.

Jaeger-Lecoultre presents ‘In Perpetual Motion’ starring Benedict Cumberbatch

To mark the launch of its new Polaris Perpetual Calendar watch, Jaeger-LeCoultre has created a visually captivating video called In Perpetual Motion. Starring Benedict Cumberbatch, a long-time friend of the Maison, it focuses on the notion of time and its relationship to three natural environments: lakes, forests and the heavens. In the video, Benedict is immersed in each of these environments in turn, wearing the new Polaris Perpetual Calendar, as he narrates an evocative text that reflects on concepts of perpetual movement and action – the eternal cycles and ever-changing sense of time, as expressed by the natural world. Woven throughout, glimpses of different celestial bodies remind us that our sense of passing time, as well as its measurement by calendars, clocks and watches, is governed by the rhythms of the cosmos and the regular cycles of astronomical phenomena – a subtle link to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Stellar Odyssey.

Carl F. Bucherer presents Heritage BiCompax Annual

Some creations simply stand the test of time – in music, cinema, fashion, and, of course, watchmaking. The Heritage BiCompax Annual by Carl F. Bucherer is proof of that on many levels: highly functional and utterly precise, the elegant chronograph with an annual calendar celebrates the design and savoir faire of the early 1950s, harmoniously merging vintage charm with “Made of Lucerne” watchmaking art. The Heritage BiCompax Annual may be reminiscent of its retro predecessor on the outside, but it is powered by an ultra-modern automatic movement on the inside. The CFB 1972 caliber boasts 42 hours of power reserve, satisfying even highly demanding technical requirements.

Reuge x MB&F presents MusicMachine 1 Reloaded

Back in 2013, MB&F presented our first-ever “Co-creation” with MusicMachine 1 – the beginning of a new chapter, in which MB&F collaborates with external creators on projects outside the scope of the wristwatch. Almost a decade later, Maximilian Büsser and his Friends decided it was time to redesign this music box and issue a new edition: MusicMachine 1 Reloaded. Like the previous MusicMachines, this Co-creation is the fruit of a collaboration between MB&F and REUGE, the premier manufacturer of music automatons with more than 155 years of expertise. Originally designed by young Chinese designer Xin Wang, this new edition was reinterpreted by German designer Maximilian Maertens, with the idea of being more streamlined and open. The entire body is now made of anodized aluminium (vs. wood) – a significantly more complex manufacturing process. The songs remain the same, with Star Wars and Star Trek classics on one side, and rock melodies on the other.
