Swiss Watch Exports rise 6.3% in 2018 with a positive growth in Gulf region.

Swiss watch exports recorded 6.3% growth in the year 2018 worldwide, as a whole it recorded CHF 21.2 billion francs (19,500 mln precisely) against CHF 19.92 Billion for the same period in 2017 as per the Swiss Watch Federation statistics.
 
The Swiss Watches Exports in the world markets mostly recorded a positive growth with USA recording +8.2%, Hong Kong and China markets increased by 19.1% & 11.7% respectively, Japan showed a growth of 9.1%. In the Middle East UAE recorded a growth of +1.7%, Saudi Arabia – +5.9%, Qatar with +52.5% growth, Kuwait +9.1%. Bahrain and Oman recorded a growth of +27.9 and 36.5% respectively.

 

LVMH reports a record growth in 2018, including for the Watches & Jewelry Division.

LVMH, has just announced its full year 2018 results, including those of the Watches & Jewelry division, which comprises among others Bvlgari, TAG Heuer, Zenith and Hublot. After an already impressive growth in 2017, the group again reports record growth for 2018.

LVMH, for the full year 2018, recorded a 10% increase in revenue, reaching EUR 46.8 billion in total sales. Organic revenue growth was 11% in 2018 and 10% in the 4th quarter of 2018. Profit from recurring operations crossed the EUR 10 billion mark in 2018, up by 21%. Both sales and profitability are still on the rise at LVMH. The watchmaking and jewelry division, reports revenues of EUR 4,123 million, an increase of 8% compared to 2017 (or 12% for organic revenues). Profit from recurring operations was up 37%.

Cartier opens an experiential exhibition at the Dubai Mall Fountain.

In partnership with Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, Cartier unveils its iconic Santos de Cartier watches in an exhibition floating atop the waters of Dubai Fountain. Originally crafted for the Brazilian aviation pioneer Alberto Santos Dumont, to make time-telling easier while flying. 

 

Longines celebrates its 50,000,000th timepiece.

Longines is celebrating its 50,000,000th watch, a one-off special edition from its Master Collection. The watch pays tribute to the brand's heritage with a classic design that features a 40mm diameter rose gold case, an L897 automatic calibre with a 64-hour power reserve and annual calendar functionality, The hours, minutes and seconds move with the blued-steel hands that stand out against a silvered dial stamped with a barleycorn motif. 

 

Louis Vuitton unveils SS19 Men’s Campaign.

In his first campaign for Louis Vuitton, Men’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh illuminates the values established in his Spring-Summer 2019 collection. Chaptered in three phases released from January until March, the multi-media campaign investigates ideas of individual perception and evolvement through lenses of inclusivity. The Inez & Vinoodh-shot images depict three-year-old Alieyth playing with paper boats wearing an oversized jumper from Abloh’s Wizard of Oz-themed spring/summer 2019 collection. 

 

Anonimo and Vulcain Watches appoints new International Sales Director.

Anonimo appoints Mr. Roberto Parrotta as International Sales Director and Mr. Parrotta joined Anonimo as on January 1st, 2019.

Girard-Perregaux presents Laureato Absolute.

Laureato Absolute is a new structure, entirely clad in black PVD-treated titanium energised by an electric blue ring, is now water-resistant to 300 metres.  Girard-Perregaux presents a trio of radical, assertive and singular timepieces endowed with a 44 mm diameter case, framing sunburst dials with a colour gradation running from dark blue in the centre to deep black around the rim. The  white  inner  bezel  ring  with  its  luminescent  accents  accentuates  the  depth  of  the  matt  black  hour-markers.

Vicenzaoro January 2019: The Sensational Growth in Foreign Public.

Vicenzaoro January, the first event of the year on IEG’s Jewellery Agenda, closed with over 35,000 visitors over the six days of the show and with the enormous satisfaction of all the players. 
Over 60% of operators came from foreign countries. USA and China confirm the excellent performance of 2018 and Continental Europe affirms its important presence with significant growth in particular in some countries: the triptych Germany, Switzerland, Austria registered a + 12% of operators. The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia registered a strong recovery despite the ongoing issues in regards to the taxation of the former, marking a +24.2%.
