Moritz Grossmann congratulates the Super Bowl 2021 winners with an exclusive custom-made timepiece
This year again, Moritz Grossmann has created a proverbially singular watch model on the occasion of the Super Bowl. The Unique Piece, which is powered by manufacture caliber 100.1 in high-artistic-finish quality and exclusively available in the U.S., is a tribute to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. At Moritz Grossmann, the Super Bowl has meanwhile become a worthwhile tradition of creating an exclusive, mostly hand-made special edition. Staying true to the theme of the event, a stylized, high-gloss polished football is emblazoned onto the black dial. Two small cutouts reveal parts of the sophisticated manufacture mechanics that tick beneath it. The engravings of the final score and the year are another tribute to the game of games. As is de rigueur at Moritz Grossmann and in tune with a long-standing tradition, the fine hands that indicate the time are manually crafted by specialists. Honoring the winners, the tips of this special edition shine in red and black, the team’s colors.

H. Moser & Cie unveils the Swiss Alp Watch Final Upgrade
Marking the end of an inspiring concept, the Swiss Alp Watch Final Upgrade will be the climax to the Swiss Alp Watch saga that has left enthusiasts spellbound since 2016. For this model, H. Moser & Cie. wanted to combine different elements that have contributed to its success over the past few years. An aesthetic inspired by smartwatches, it features a Vantablack® dial in its Concept version, with no logo or indices. Known to be the blackest material produced artificially, Vantablack® and the blackened hour and minute hands perfectly evoke the standby appearance of the watch. This notion is further reinforced by the offset small second at 6 o'clock, redesigned for the occasion as a shaded disc made up of openings. Evoking the constant passing of time, this symbol serves as a reminder that the here and now is all that matters.

Parmigiani Fleurier presents Toric Fleur
A passionate admirer of Japanese culture, it was only natural for Michel Parmigiani to design a very elegant timepiece to celebrate hanami, the Japanese custom of admiring the beauty of flowers, in his own unique way. The new Toric Fleur, presented in a rose gold case made entirely within the Parmigiani Fleurier watchmaking center, features a delicate lace design of marguerites on its dial. A long-time student of nature and the golden ratio, he was inspired by the subtle grace of this flower as seen in the meadows of the Swiss Jura. Featuring a rose gold case in 33.7 mm, it is fitted with the subtly knurled bezel typical of the Toric collection. Arabic figures indexes are applied on the white mother of pearl dial, while the delicate gold lace design evokes a carpet of marguerites adorning the Swiss valleys in Spring. |
