UAE attracts global retailers as ranking high by 54.5%
fiogf49gjkf0d Abu Dhabi among the top 4 global destinations for retailers last year; Dubai keeps consolidating its hold, according to CBRE report. Abu Dhabi pulled in 42 new retailers during the year. Helping Abu Dhabi’s flag to fly high was the interest generated by premium retail clusters such as The Galleria and the World Trade Centre Mall. Dubai, meantime has retained the second ranking status among the ‘most penetrated’ cities for international retailers. Together, Dubai and Abu Dhabi made quite sure that the UAE was comfortably placed in the second spot as the go-to market for retailers. The country had a 54.5 per cent penetration rate of global retailers being present in the marketplace.

Tiffany & Co. reports first quarter results
Tiffany & Co. (NYSE: TIF) reported its financial results for the three months (“first quarter”) ended April 30, 2014. A 13% increase in worldwide net sales, combined with an improved operating margin, resulted in 50% growth in net earnings. Management also increased its earnings forecast for the current fiscal year. Bulgari Hotel to open in Dubai with Meraas
fiogf49gjkf0d Dubai-based real estate development company Meraas Holding signed an agreement with Bulgari Hotels and Resorts to bring the luxury hospitality brand to Dubai. The Bulgari Hotel in Dubai will be the world’s fifth Bulgari Hotels and Resorts property following the opening of Milan in 2004, Bali in 2006, London in 2012, and Shanghai that is anticipated to open in 2015. The agreement was signed in the presence of His Excellency, Abdulla Al Habbai, Group Chairman of Meraas Holding, and Mr Jean-Christophe Babin, Chief Executive Officer of Bulgari Group, in Rome. The Bulgari Hotel at Jumeirah Bay Island in Dubai, a six million sq ft mixed-use development, sculpted in the shape of a titanic seahorse and located off the coast of Jumeirah Beach Road, will feature low rise residential villas and a marina.

Roger Dubuis joins hands with Emirates Airline
Roger Dubuis and the Emirates Airline Foundation joined hands together in a charity initiative aimed at bringing joy and enhancing the lives of children around the world. The ‘Time for Change’ initiative will raise funds for the Emirates Airline Foundation through a silent auction of a unique piece: the Excalibur Skeleton Double Flying Tourbillon. The ‘Time for Change’ auction will run from August 15th 2014 to March 15th 2015. Passengers on all Emirates flights can bid for a chance to own a collector’s dream by filling in a bid form in-flight. The winning bidder will be invited for a VIP visit to the Roger Dubuis Manufacture in Geneva, Switzerland.
