Dubai tops among 7 global cities in consumer confidence.

Consumers in Dubai appeared to be more optimistic on the overall state of the economy and job prospects compared to six other leading cities in the world in an analysis of consumer confidence conducted by the Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai.

The comparative study showed that the overall Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) for Dubai stood at 142 points during the second quarter of 2016, higher than that of Tokyo, Milan, Paris, New York, Bangkok and London. It was also a significant leap from the CCI score of 138 recorded in Dubai during the last quarter of 2015.

World’s oldest natural pearl, found in UAE.

The excavations carried out by the Antiquities and Heritage Department in Umm Al Qaiwain, at Umm Al Qaiwain 2 site, resulted in discovery of a settlement dating back to the 6th millennium BC and archaeological ruins dating back to 7,000 years, as well as other discoveries that date back to 5,000 years. The oldest natural pearl in the world, dating back to about 7,500 years, was also found. The UAQ has the lion's share in the archaeological surveys that helped to discover many landmarks of history and cultures that emerged and flourished thousands of years ago.

Audemars Piguet celebrates Serena Williams' 22nd major victory.

Serena Williams breezed through her grass-court campaign in London to defend the crown she won last year in a thrilling Ladies’ Singles Final match on July 9th, against German player Angélique Kerber who had beaten her in the Melbourne Final last January. Serena managed to secure her 7th victory in London, which is her highest number of wins for a specific major tournament. This becomes her 22nd title in a Grand Slam tournament, which allows her to equal Steffi Graff’s open-era record.

Bovet celebrates the tenth anniversary of its Tramelan manufacture, acquired in 2006. To mark the event, the Geneva firm is offering a five-year warranty on all timepieces powered by a Dimier 1738 movement.

The Luminor Daylight 8 Days model, dial is white and all the markers and the hands including the small seconds hand at 9 o’clock, are blue. Bulgari presents Bulgari Carbon Gold.

Created in 1993, the Carbon Gold collection has become a watchmaking icon. In this summer version, three colour combinations are proposed. Black, brown or blue dials present rose gold indices topped with Superluminova, guaranteeing perfect night-time legibility. The 40 mm case houses the B77 calibre, which guarantees a 42-hour power reserve and is water-resistant to 30 metres. The legendary Bvlgari engraving is displayed on the curve of the bezel.
