Two rare Patek Philippe wristwatches will go under the hammer at a Christie’s auction in Geneva on 12 May 2008. The watches, said to be two of the ten most important watches by the acclaimed Swiss manufacturer are expected to fetch USD $ 1.5 million to USD $ 2.47 million each at the auction.

According to Sabine Kegel, senior watch specialist at Christie’s, the first of these watches dated 1954 is cased in platinum and will be offered for the first time since its original purchase. The second watch in a stainless steel case formerly belonged to the famous American car racer Briggs Swift Cunningham II.
