The Dubai Court of Cassation recently issued an irrevocable ruling when it upheld the 10-year imprisonment against 33-year old N.M., a 33-year old Serb (full name not identified), who was found guilty of the theft of USD $ 4.03 million worth of jewellery from the Graff boutique at the Wafi Mall in April 2007.

N.M., who owned a Dubai-based company prior to the heist, will be deported after serving his punishment. The Court of Appeals also ordered him to pay USD $ 5,750 in temporary compensation to the jewellery store. The Public Prosecution’s arraignment sheet charge N.M. with aiding and abetting a number of unidentified masked robbers toting toy guns whole stole two cars, drove into the Wafi Mall at about 10.00 PM on that fateful day and smashed the shop’s glass front by crashing the car into it.
