The pivotal role of Thailand as the world’s capital of coloured gemstones and accoutrements & global purveyor for the industry’s raw materials, designing and manufacturing will take centre stage at the 41st Edition of the bi-annual Bangkok Gems & Jewellery Fair (BGJF), the 100,000 sq. m., one-stop, world class exhibition to take place in the City of Angels from 27 February to 2 March 2008.

Debuting at the Exhibition will be the Sala Design which will feature everything purple including a display of rare purple sapphires especially flown in from Madagascar. The ‘Tree of Siam’ (named after the old historical name for the Kingdom), will be made from purple gold created with a touch of Thai craftsmanship. According to Khun Somchai Phornchindarak, CEO, BGJF, Thailand’s globally renowned jewellery houses will showcase some 15 newly-crafted, finest jewellery masterpieces. Another highlight that will appeal to the international trade sector will be the B2B matchmaking facility that allows buyers and exhibitors in 16 categories of goods & services to establish connections and appointments prior to the Fair on ww.ospgemsjewelery.com
