On 15 October 2011, the results of the 5th edition of the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards were announced at the Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society in Deauville, France. The Laureates of the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards are chosen by an independent and voluntary Jury composed of entrepreneurs and business leaders. The Middle East & North Africa region jury members were headed by Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, the United Arab Emirates Minister for Foreign Trade. The six Laureates of 2011 won the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards trophy, one year of personalized coaching by Cartier, McKinsey & Co. and INSEAD mentors and US$20,000 of funding. Since its inception, the competition has supported 76 women entrepreneurs from all over the world.
