Appella International honours a great leader through an exclusive limited edition watch

Geneva-based Appella, the 60+ year-old internationally well-known Swiss watchmaker, held a timely tribute in honour of a great leader with the launch of its special limited edition collection of watches. Created in memory of HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahayan, the former President of the UAE, the exclusive watch collection saw a fitting venue for its glittering launch which recently took place at the Burj Al Arab and was attended by top VVIPs, dignitaries, business leaders and government officials from the UAE, the GCC and around the world.

This majestic line pays an emotional homage to one of the greatest visionaries of our time and has been designed and crafted in the best traditions of Swiss watch making. The company has produced exactly 86 pieces of this exquisite collection globally, with certification for pre-identified and especially selected individuals and VVIPs. Each of the 86 watches represents a year in the life of this noble leader and comes packaged in a wooden collector’s box that carries a book on the life of the late President and his achievements.

This special limited edition watches is an exclusive line of creations crafted in 18 carat solid gold, ringed by 71 diamonds and carries a profile of Sheikh Zayed in its watch face and engraved image of this legendary personality on the back case.

“These exclusive watches have been designed keeping in mind the sentimental and emotional reasons behind its creation and bears an aesthetic elegance that sets it apart as a timeless product,” said A. S. Jamal, chairman of Appella International. Part of the proceeds from the sale of this collection will be donated to the Al Noor Charity Foundation as [art of its corporate social responsibility.

The commemorative ceremony was attended by among others, Wazir Daredia, Managing Director, Appela International; HE Hans Hauser, the Swiss Consul General; Anwar Ibrahim, the former Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia; Saeed Matar Saeed Bin Belaila, Head of Immigration Department, Dubai; Khalid Al Halyan, Chairman, Al Noor Foundation and Noor Ali Rashid, Royal Photographer.
