Christie’s to launch Middle East season with landmark international exhibition in Abu Dhabi

In association with Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) and sponsored by Credit Suisse, Christie’s has announced that it will hold an unprecedented exhibition including international sale highlights of watches and jewels to take place at the Emirates Palace Hotel in the UAE capital on 26 and 27 October 2008. Additionally, Christie’s will also hold the fifth Middle East sales series auctions of jewels and watches on 29 and 30 October 2008 at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai. The items on auction will include radiant-cut fancy intense yellow diamond ring weighing 57.02 carats estimated at USD $ 2.0 million to USD $ 2.5 million; a heart shaped diamond pendant weighing 9.24 carats, D colour potentially flawless estimated at USD $ 0.9 million to USD $ 1.0 million and a pear-shaped yellow diamond necklace suspending a diamond drop weighing 14.26 carats, estimated at between USD $ 600,000 to USD $ 800,000.
