Historic Sotheby’s Auctions in Abu Dhabi Raise $133 Million at Collectors’ Week

Saadiyat Beach at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort in Abu Dhabi hosted a historic series of auctions, marking a milestone for Sotheby’s and the region. As the sun set, auctioneers presented the first major luxury auctions in the Middle East, featuring jewellery, watches, handbags, high-performance bicycles, cars, and real estate, bringing $133.4 million. The events concluded Abu Dhabi Collectors’ Week, which showcased $1 billion in art and objects to over 5,000 guests. Highlights included Jane Birkin’s Hermès Birkin at $2.9 million, the Patek Philippe Star Caliber 2000 at $11.9 million, The Desert Rose diamond at $8.8 million, and record-breaking sales of bicycles and automobiles.
