First Middle East Watches & Jewellery Awards to be presented at Jewellery Arabia 2005

Jewellery Arabia 2005, now in its 14th Edition and the oldest, largest and most prestigious Watches & Jewellery Exhibition of its kind in the Middle East is all set for a grand opening on 23 November 2005 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre. The five-day exhibition will see an increase both in the number of exhibitors and exhibition floor space as well as an expected increase in the number of visitors.
A distinctive highlight of this year’s event is the institution and presentation by MPPArabia, for the first time, of the First Middle East Watches & Jewellery Editor’s choice Awards alongside Jewellery Arabia 2005. The awards sponsored by Arabian Watches & Jewellery Magazine (AWJ) and Pen Middle East (PenME) will be presented to recipients from among the international and regional watches, jewellery, pens and accessories companies at a glittering ceremony and a gala dinner to be held at the Al Khayma Ballroom at the prestigious Ritz Carlton, the most luxurious hotel in the Kingdom of Bahrain on Tuesday, 22 November 2005.

To create media and public awareness for The First Middle East Watches & Jewellery Awards & First Middle East Pen Awards, initiated and sponsored by Arabian Watches & Jewellery Magazine (AWJ), to be held alongside Jewellery Arabia 2005, which now in its 14th Edition, is the oldest, biggest and most prestigious Exhibition of its kind for the Watches, Jewellery and Accessories Industry in the Middle East.

The awards reflect MPPArabia’s singular efforts to recognize and reward top industry names for their creativity and distinction. The awards will foster cohesion in the industry and trigger healthy competition among the top brand names whilst also acknowledging their professional input to the industry. It will also help to turn the spotlight on the industry’s fortunes in the Middle East, already one of the fastest growing regions in the world for many of the industry’s participants.

The event is being held under the patronage of HE Dr. Hassan Fakhro, the Honourable Minister of Industry & Commerce, Kingdom of Bahrain. The awards to be branded ‘The First Middle East Watches & Jewellery Editor’s Choice Awards’ will be presented to Watches, Jewellery and Pen awardees in different, specified individual categories. Also expected to attend the event is Shaikh Mohamed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Chairman, Arabian Exhibition Management, the organizers of Jewellery Arabia 2005.

This glittering ceremony will be a star-studded event with the expected presence of specially invited dignitaries, celebrities, members of the diplomatic corps stationed in the Kingdom of Bahrain, members of the Bahraini Royalty, leading socialites, top ranking officials and senior professionals representing the international and regional Watches, Jewellery and Pen Industry. The gathering will represent a virtual who’s who of the industry as they congregate for the first and biggest event of its kind in the Middle East.

Rolls Royce, the ultimate in luxury will be the principal sponsor of the ceremonies. The event will also be supported by Arabian Exhibition Management.

There will also be extensive media coverage of this media in the local, regional and international press and on television.
