This exclusive variation of the Antarctique S timekeeper marks Czapek & Cie’s world premiere of both a mirrored finish silicon wafer dial and bimetallic combination in their timepieces. This edition reinterprets the Antarctique’s sporty elegance with a striking mirrored dial, developed in collaboration with MD’Art. For the very first time for Czapek & Cie, the dial is made from a single silicon wafer - a semiconductor better known for its use in microelectronics and photovoltaics. A very thin disc of the crystalline silicon is polished to create a perfectly smooth and shiny surface before a fine PVD coating of platinum is applied, amplifying the reflective qualities of the silicon wafer.
