Indian trade boost at Jewellery Arabia 2009

The Mumbai headquartered Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) of India coordinated a contingent of over 60 top Indian jewellers at the recently concluded Jewellery Arabia 2009 exhibition. The official Indian pavilion was spread across a total area of 772 sq. m. at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre. According to Vasant Mehta, Chairman, GJEPC, Jewellery Arabia is an important platform for increased bilateral trade and the region accounts for 32.3 % (USD $ 6.9 billion) of the countrys total gem and jewellery exports totally worth USD $ 21 billion.
