The first manned lunar landing on 20 July 1969 was one of the greatest, most dramatic scientific achievements in human history. Neil Armstrong stepped onto the moons surface at 02.56 GMT on 21 July 1969. Nineteen minutes later, he was joined by Edwin Buzz Aldrin, who was wearing his Omega Speedmaster.
