The Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ) has launched the Qatar Diamond Exchange (QDE), the country’s first regulated hub for trading diamonds and precious stones. Located in the Ras Bufontas Free Zone, the exchange offers secure trading facilities, customs and certification services, vault storage, insurance, and independent valuation. Following Qatar’s full membership in the Kimberley Process in 2021, the QDE strengthens the nation’s role in the transparent trade of conflict-free diamonds. Open to traders, manufacturers, and industry partners, the exchange will also host rough and polished diamond tenders, connecting African and Asian producers with buyers across Europe and the Gulf.
