Abu Dhabi’s hotel guest arrivals up 5% in the first six months

According to senior official, Abu Dhabi hotels saw a 5 per cent growth in guest numbers in the first six months of 2018 due to an increase in the number of visitors from China, India and other countries. Hotel guest numbers reached 2.4 million from January to June this year. China was the leading source market for Abu Dhabi with more than 214,000 people from that country staying in the emirate, an increase of 15.8 per cent compared to the same period in 2017.
India ranked second with more than 196,000 visitors, while the UK accounted for a 12.9 per cent increase in visitors to reach more than 135,000 visitors from January to June. The United States posted a growth of 25.8 per cent in visitor numbers in the first six months of this year. Egypt and Germany also saw growth of 4.6 per cent and 17.4 per cent respectively.
