The International Jewellery Exhibition (IJEX), the Sultanate of Oman’s only dedicated jewellery event, will be held at the Oman International Exhibition Centre in the country’s capital Muscat from 15 to 19 April 2009. IJEX 2009 is organized by the Oman Ministry of Commerce & Industry, the Oman International Exhibition Centre and the Sultanate’s Ministry of Tourism. International organization, promotion and marketing support is offered by Sama Exhibitions Organizing & Marketing in the Kingdom of Bahrain and additional support has come from the Bangkok-based Thai Gems & Jewellery Traders Association (TGJTA), the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group (DGJG), the Sri Lanka Gems & Jewellery Association and Emirates Events-UAE.

IJEX 2009, promoted internationally at several key, premier exhibitions, will be a repository for some of the most exquisite jewellery and a dazzling display of diamonds, rare and precious stones, pearls, gems, gold and silver. “IJEX 2009 represents a new frontier in the world of fine, haute couture jewellery & luxury watches in the Sultanate of Oman and we are excited about the marketing and promotion potential for exhibitors in this second biggest GCC country with a rich heritage,” affirmed Mohammed Al Hulaibi, General Manager, Sama Expo, speaking exclusively to MPParabia at a recent gala dinner reception held at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Dubai to announce the landmark exhibition.

Over 300 exhibitors are expected to take up space at the 8,000 sq. m. fair venue. The expected footfall is projected at over 15,000 over the five-day duration of IJEX 2009.
