Richemont’s Jewellery, Specialist Watchmakers and Writing Instruments have fared well in Q4-2007 according to a recent company interim management statement. Sales of jewellery for the period October—December 2007 stood at Euros 863 million reflecting an increase of 15 % (at constant exchange rates) over the Euros 803 million figure in October—December 2006. Similarly, sales of specialist watches was Euros 426 million in Q4-2007, representing a 16 % increase over Q4-2006 sales at Euros 389 million, whilst sales of premium writing instruments was Euros 221 million in Q4-2007, reflecting a 14 % increase over Q4-2006 sales at Euros 203 million. Specifically both Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels saw good growth during this period as did Piaget, IWC and Panerai. Montblanc also performed particularly well, reporting double digit growth. Alfred Dunhill also reported continuing good sales during this 2007 last quarter.
