Sotheby’s recent Geneva evening sale of important watches in mid-November 2008 netted USD $ 5.75 million. The top lot of the sale was the ‘Unique Patek Philippe ref. 3448’ which sold for USD $ 1.55 million. Almost 100 clients were registered to bid in the room and around 45 % of the lots sold above their high estimates.

“Despite the economic downturn we are very pleased with our most recent Geneva auction and very pleased with the results and this brings the total for 2008 to USD $ 14.93 million, the best result ever for Sotheby’s watch sales in Geneva,” said Geoffrey Ader, Head of Watches, Sotheby’s Geneva.
