Sotheby’s first evening sale of important watches nets USD $ 10.4 million

The recent first evening sale of important watches to take place at Sotheby’s in Geneva realized an exceptional total of USD $ 10.4 million. According to Alexander Barter, Deputy Worldwide Head of Watches, Sotheby’s International, the auction’s climax was reached when a Patek Philippe chronograph wristwatch, formerly in the collection of Count Carlo Felice Trossi was sold for a staggering USD $ 2.236 million, becoming the most expensive wristwatch sold by Sotheby’s. Other watches auctioned included a series of Patek Philippe watches, a Rolex and a Breguet.
