The Thai Gems & Jewellery Traders Association (TGJTA) promoted its latest and much-vaunted new service, the Online Sourcing Project (OSP) at the just-concluded 5-day, 42nd Bangkok Gems & Jewellery Fair (BGJF) held in the Kingdom’s capital from 11 to 15 September 2008. OSP, first introduced at the 39th BGJF held in February 2007, is the brainchild of Khun Vichai Assarasakorn, President, Thai Gems & Jewellery Traders Association (TGJTA), who initiated the move to provide a trade platform, under the auspices of the Association, for linking buyers and sellers. “OSP provides a road map to international buyers seeking guaranteed supply from reliable & carefully vetted Thai suppliers and sellers,” asserted the articulate and outspoken Assarasakorn. “OSP cuts straight to the heart of the issue, minimizes wasteful searches, examines suppliers, scrutinizes buyers needs and facilitates trade match-making’, he added in remarks made exclusively to the visiting AWJ Newsletter correspondent on the sidelines of the Bangkok Exhibition.
OSP enables visiting buyers and traders to better prepare themselves by selecting the products they wish to see at the show and then contacting the relevant companies in advance to set up the meetings. It saves time and makes the buyer’s trip more effective and productive.
