Having made a successful debut at the last two editions of the Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair (BGJF), Thailand's innovative business facilitation tool will make a presence at major jewel trade events around the world kicking off at BASELWORLD 2008. The Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA) decided to introduce the OSP (Online Sourcing Project) to the world as the internet-based business matchmaking platform linking global buyers with exhibitors at BGJF has achieved the mission it has set out for.
"The OSP function has proved to be very useful in enhancing businesses and should be exploited in the broader spectrum beyond BGJF's sphere," said Somchai Phornchindarak, chief executive of BGJF organizing committee.
The cyber business matchmaking facility provides traders with a quick access to over 1,000 exhibitors at BGJF, learning about their offerings, and establishing contacts from anywhere in the world around the clock.
TGJTA hopes to capture the attention of international industry at the BASELWORLD where Thailand is sending its largest trade contingent comprising more than 70 exhibitors. TGJTA will formally present the facility to eight key jewel events this year, starting at the BASELWORLD 2008 on April 3-10. The seven others will be scheduled on www.ospgemsjewelry.com or www.bangkokgemsfair.com.
This particular campaign is especially aimed at bringing Thai exhibitors at BASELWORLD 2008 and visiting trade members together to create a win-win commercial result, Mr. Somchai noted. At the same time, it will encourage overseas trade members to come to Thailand, especially to BGJF, to see products, production facilities and their local counterparts.
At the 42nd BGJF will be held on September 11-15, 2008 more than 100 sessions of business matching through OSP will be conducted again as responding to its success. TGJTA will set aside a space of more than 300 square meters at BGJF as a venue, completed with meeting supports, for both sides to conduct face-to-face discussions. The forms part of the upgrade and expanding services at BGJF in order to maintain its status as one of the world's premier jewel trade shows.
