Sheikh Robert Mouawad, President & Chairman has formally and personally announced his official retirement for the Mouawad Jewellery Group after an accomplished and distinguished career spanning 45 years to pursue non-jewellery interests including real estate projects, hotels, cultural affairs with the Robert Mouawad Museum and The Robert Mouawad Foundation. Robert Mouawad steered the 120-year Jeweller to Royalty & Celebrities to international status with operations across the Middle East, Europe, the Americas and the Far East. The Group owns 17 of the largest and most important diamonds in the world and in 1997 made a significant contribution to the world of gemology by supporting the construction of the Gemmological Institute of Americas (GIA) World Headquarters in Carlsbad, California,. As a consequence, the premises was named the Robert Mouawad Campus, in honour of the donor. Robert Mouawad will hand over the day-to-day management of the company, founded by David Maouawad in 1890, to his three sons, Fred, Alain and Pascal, who represent the fourth generation of the Mouawad Family.
