Swiss Watch giant Omega, already associated with the Olympic Games for over half a century scored another milestone when it was appointed as Official Timekeeper at the Inaugural Abu Dhabi Golf Championships, held in the UAE capital form 19 to 22 January 2006, as part of a three year deal.

The 72 hole stroke play event, with a USD $ 2 million prize money offer, had attracted over 112 top professional players including Colin Montgomerie, Thomas Bjorn, Ian Poulter, Chris DiMarco and Omega Ambassador Sergio Garcia.
