Bangkok Gems & Jewellery Fair reinforces its position as the Kingdoms premier trade event

The 44th edition of the long running, five-day Bangkok Gems & Jewellery Fair (BGJF), concluded at the Impact Challenger Hall in the Thai capital on 19 September 2009. It was inaugurated by HE Porntiva Nakasai, the Thai Minister of Commerce on 15 September 2009. According to Khun Somchai Phornchindarak, Vice President of the Thai Gems & Jewellery Traders Association (TGJTA) and CEO, BGJF, the event was an unqualified success, even in these recessionary times. The 100,000 sq. m. Fair featured 1,300 exhibitors from Thailand and around the world and welcomed more than 35,000 visitors. The exhibition, organized jointly by the TGJTA and the Department of Export Promotion (DEP), featured two new additions, the Diamond Fine Pavilion and the announcement of the Queens Cup Ploi Thai Jewellery Awards.
