The worldwide economic meltdown and the recent mayhem in the commercial capital Mumbai have not restrained the resolve of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) of India to stage the 2nd Edition of the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) Signature 2009 at the Kala (Art) Academy in Panaji, the capital of India’s smallest and famed state of Goa on the country’s west coast from 20 to 23 February.

The show features the eminent products and tantalizing designs of Indian jewellery manufacturers. It will showcase design and innovation from popular, much-sought after ornamental pieces to haute couture designs in a wide range of price points. This elitist, by-invitation only premium niche event is high on experiential quotient that maximizes buyer-seller interface and online pre-scheduled appointments, according to a GJEPC Press Release.

According to Vasant Mehta, Chairman, GJEPC, the show will focus on markets that have been relatively immune from the ongoing economic recession including the Middle East, Russia, the CIS countries and other neighbouring nations of the South Asian subcontinent. “IIJS Signature 2009 promises to highlight India’s capabilities to manufacture jewellery in terms of design, craftsmanship and quality at par with international centres in the world,” opined Mr. Mehta.

IIJS Signature 2009 is an ideal platform for cohesion and improving business relationships, opening new vistas for trade co-operation and investment. Outside of the show, GJEPC has scheduled ‘exclusive’ evenings that will enable buyers and exhibitors to unwind and network.
